I was awoken by a knock at the door a few hours later. Jin wasn't kidding when he said he wanted to go get something to eat.
My headache subsided a bit, which was unusual of the hangovers I often got, so that was good.
I peeked through the eyehole to see Jin standing there with his head down and his hands in his pocket. With a small inhale I opened the door.
"Hey, how was your sleep?" he asked me calmly.
I rubbed my eyes and grinned widely, "It was good. You ready to eat?"
Jin nodded and we both headed out, down the hall and out the doors of the dorms to his favorite pho joint.
When we arrived the young waitress greeted us then directed us to a small booth near the back, she handed us two plastic menus and smiled shyly.
"I already know what I want." Jin stated, tossing his menu to the side. "It's what I always get, house special number twenty-two with extra beef balls."
Jin was interesting; he was friendly and seemed really caring, and being in his presence was different than say, Namjoon, because Jin was more on the older brother side. I felt safe around him, but I couldn't decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
Before ordering I checked my phone, no messages from Jimin. I felt my heart sink the slightest bit. I had no idea what was going through his mind, or how he was feeling and it made everything even worse.
I figured that I could easily just send him a text or a Snap, but part of me felt guilty, or unworthy, and that I should give him his space while he was upset. I didn't want to be annoying.
"Do you know what you want..?" Jin said slow and questioningly. "You're checking your phone quite a bit. Is something wrong?"
"Huh?" I said, quickly putting my phone back into my pocket. "Uhh, no. I'll order the same as you." I said in a rush, placing the menu on top of his.
"Jungkook, I'm not stupid. Your face is saying it all. You look physically sick. Something is definitely wrong." Jin wouldn't give up.
Having just met Jin, I was a bit hesitant to tell him about Jimin and the whole... situation. It was something I was even nervous to tell Namjoon.
"It's nothing. I was just wondering about Namjoon, I lost his jacket at the party so I don't want him to get mad." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the whole truth. Jin didn't need to know right now, I thought.
"You two spend a lot of time together?" Jin asked, taking a sip of his tea.
I was confused, "Yeah... of course. We're best friends."
"I see. So you're single then?" Jin said, looking away nonchalantly.
Now I was even more confused, "Yeah... I suppose I am. Why do you ask..."
Jin crossed his arms and leaned in a little, a small nervous chuckle leaving his parted lips. He was very handsome, there wasn't any denying that.
"I don't know, I'm just curious. I know we just met, but if I would've known how close you lived to me or if I'd at least seen you around, I'm sure I would've made more of an effort to get to know you." Jin was looking into my eyes now, and as he spoke I felt my cheeks fill with blood and my temperature rise.
It felt like a scene from a movie – one that I wasn't particularly invested in though.
Before responding I poked a glance down to my knees, where I was on my phone under the table, Jimin still hadn't sent me anything.
