Just A Dream

Hey guys! Thank you so much for 2k on this one shot book! I'm very happy with what has become of this book and I can't wait to continue writing more!

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the one shot and I'm probably gonna die after this so goodbye. X3

And by the title, I'm sure most of you can get what the ending is. So I am definitely gonna die.

~Brandon's POV~

His hand was warm in mine; giving me comfort as we walked down the crowded streets of judging eyes. His smile warmed my heart and his eyes were filled to the brim with love. We didn't have a care in the world. He loved me, and I loved him. Everything was as it should be.

"Hey Princess? Wanna go grab something to eat before we hit the beach?" Mat asked as he navigated our way through the sea of people around us.

"Yeah. I'm starving." I said, starting to search for a vendor or restaurant we could eat at. "What do you feel like eating?"

"In all honesty, I could eat anything Princess." Mat said. "But those hot dogs sound good."

I followed Mat's finger and smiled when I saw the familiar vendor cart run by our favorite lovable Texan. Preston waved happily as he saw us walk up and began to prepare our food.

"Hey Lava P! How's business today?" Mat asked.

"It's been great! I've gained over 100 dollars just this afternoon. Soon I'll have enough to buy that thing for Rob." Preston said as he handed us our hot dogs and we handed him the money.

"I heard my name." Rob said as he walked up behind Preston and wrapped his arms around the latter's waist.

"Hey Rob!" I said happily before biting into my hot dog; the best food here on the pier.

"Hey Brandon. Hey Mat. How's Noochzahhutt doing?" Rob asked as he put his chin on Preston's shoulder.

"We've been great! How about Poofless?" Mat asked as I continued to devour my hot dog.

"Same as you guys! We go on vacation next week and I can't wait." Rob said as he kissed Preston's cheek; gaining a giggle from the younger.

"Well it's great to see you guys again, but we have a fun filled day at the beach and we don't want to lose daylight!" Mat said as he began to pull me away; me still eating my hot dog.

"Have fun guy! Now Preston, what were you saying about me?" Rob asked his lover as we walked away; us laughing.

"So are we almost there?" I asked as I threw away my hot dog wrapper; Mat just biting into his hot dog.

Mat nodded as he continued to scarf down his hot dog before throwing away his wrapper into the nearest garbage can. He turned to me with a large smile that melted my heart and look of absolute love in his eyes.

"Ready for a fun day at the beach?" Mat asked as we began to walk on the sandy shore towards the water.

"Yeah! Race you to the water!" I said, letting go of Mat's hand and dropping my stuff to the ground; before running into to the ocean waves

"Hey wait for me!" Mat laughed as he followed me in; splashing me every chance he got.

~Time Skip~

It's been two days since I've last heard from Mat. I've sent so many texts, called some many times, and visited his house; but he was never there. I've asked our friends where he is but none of them know. 

Today I go to Mat's house yet again. It's late at night, but I know Mat's up. He's always up late; working on things or talking to me. Walking up to his home, I notice his lights are on finally. But nothing moved. 

Carefully, I make my way up to the door and open it; knowing Mat kept it unlocked just for me. I walked in slowly and made my way to the living room; where the lights were on. 

"Hey Mat? It's Brandon I haven't seen you for a few days so I thought I...." I cut myself off as I walked into the living room; shocked to see Mat on top of Jerome, kissing him.

"M-mat?" I asked, gaining their attention. "What's g-going on?"

"Ummm. What do you mean?" Mat asked as he stood up; allowing Jerome to get up too.

"Why are you kissing Jerome?" I asked; tearing up slightly. "Don't you love me anymore?"

"I'm sorry Brandon. But I hate you!" Mat said, looking up at me. "I never loved you! I only dated you to get Jerome's attention!"

Tears spilled down my face as I shook my head and backed away; before running out of the house and sobbing loudly. Sitting down in the middle of no where, I sobbed my heart out. My heart was shattered and everywhere; no amount of glue could fix the mess that was called my heart.

~Time Skip~

I saw him again for the first time in a while. He looked so happy walking alongside Jerome; the gold band around his finger twinkling in the summer sun.

It broke my heart that I couldn't be with him. Or speak for that matter. He wouldn't be able to hear me if I did. I've tried and tried and tried until I realized why. Ever since I realized, I've tried to control my emotions; but they've gotten to the point where I couldn't take it.

Stopping in the middle of the sidewalk I sighed as Jerome and Mat came closer.

"I'm love you Mat." I said as he walked straight through me. "But I finally realized our love will only be just a dream."
