||Disgust: a feeling of revulsion or profound disapproval aroused by something unpleasant or offensive.||
Being sick did not hinder Arabella's reflexes when she was sleeping, the sound of the door closing had her shuffling off the bed hurriedly and standing on her feet. Looking around fervently she spotted the King at the door. Pushing back and fixing her hair from her face, she looked at him before sitting back in the bed.
"How are you feeling?" He asked her quietly as he walked towards her and stopped right in front of her.
"I'm fine. Where are my parents?" She asked.
"Sorry to wake you."
"It's not your fault." She sighed.
"I came to check up on you, your burning hot." He said touching her forehead gingerly.
"Where are my parents?" She asked him again, they were supposed to be there.
"They're talking to my mother." He said slowly.
Sighing, she looked away from him, "why?"
"They're discussing you're health plans," He looked at her shyly, "and our mating details."
Her eyes shot up to glare at his standing figure, "what? Why?" She said astonished.
"Your father and alpha wanted to discuss some things with my mother." He said lowly, looking away from her.
She stayed silent, sitting back on the bed. The King sat next to her, and pushed the hair behind her ear. Her eyes closed momentarily as he gingerly caressed her cheek.
"Arabella I need to speak to you." He said softly.
"About what?" She said looking at him.
"If you remembered last night I told you something. Do you remember?" He asked her.
She looked away from him, "yes."
He sat down beside her, "I want to discuss with you why you were rejected from being an Alpha."
She looked away from him, "I think I know why." She said quietly.
"I don't think you do." He replied.
He took her silence as permission.
"You know the history behind our pack. Before, when my father was in reign, he was King for almost one hundred and forty years, and he found my mother late and they had me and my siblings." He told her.
She nodded.
"My father. He was an old fashioned man and he believe strongly in revenge and the whole an eye for an eye."
Her eyes narrowed at him.
"During the war and before he died, may he Rest In Peace, my father had a feud with Malachi Gardenia."
"My grandfather?" Arabella asked.
"Yes your grandfather. You know our packs were at war before we, my father and his pack, won."
"What does this have to do with the rejection?" Arabella said sternly.
"Let me continue. What the world doesn't know is that your grandfather, who had been caught up with the war, had my father's sister killed to gain an upper hand."
She looked at him, "what?"
"My father was very angry and this propelled him to win the war. When it was over my father still want satisfied. He appointed my younger brother who is responsible for pack integration, to sabotage the Gardenia pack."
