Who Was That?

We sat there enjoying our coffee and having idol chat. You know the usual:

How our days have been
Plans for the future
And politics

Then she went quiet for a few seconds, which from my past experiences means she was about to say something really strange.

"Um..." she began to say but bit her tongue

"What's up?" I asked as she played with the foam on top of her coffee.

"What would you say.....if I told you I wanted to be more than what we are now?"

I sat there for a second. She had gotten to the question that I wanted to ask. I gave a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of my head.

"I was kinda hoping to ask you the same thing." I started to say but was cut off

"And I don't mean just moving in together. I...." she trailed off

"You....." I started to trail

"I want to have a baby....with you." she ended blushing so hard it almost looked like the red had reached her hair.

I sat there in, well not shock more so confussion and a bit of fear. Most times you hear a girl start bringing up talk about children its about three or so days after they took a test and found out.

"And before you ask. No, I'm not."
I let out a sigh of relief. I took a quick look at my watch and noticed that we would be late if we didn't hurry. So we paid. Correction I paid for everything and we went on our way out. I noticed a random guy, probably a drunken or something approached us. At first I thought he was coming to ask us for money, but instead he came up to Valery and kissed her. Then he just walked off like nothing happened. What confused me more was that she just stood there, took it and kept moving as if nothing had happened. While we were on the way back to the bakery. I had a few questions on my mind that stemed from two topics.

1. Was I ready to start a family of my own. I mean yeah Valery would be a great mom and all. But maybe not yet.
