Taking Chances {Chance Series}

Soon Enough

We made our way to the back of the building. There was a ladder to the lower part of the roof of the building. Soon we were sitting on the slightly damp roof hand in hand, watching the sunset.

"This is nice." Valery breathed,"We should do this more often."

I smiled. I hadn't done something like this in a long time. The cool evening breeze blew across my face. It sent a small chill through me but, I didn't mind. As the sun went down, the moon and stars came out. Valery curled into my chest for warmth

But I had something on my mind that distracted me from our touching moment.

"V. If you hadn't met me here. Would you ever have talked to me?"
There was silence for a while then it was broken by the cutest laugh in the world.

"Ofcourse I would have, what kind of question is that!?" she continued to giggle and snort. As we held eachother watching the night sky.

I was happy, happier than I've been in a long time. I don't know how, but something about her is relaxing to me. Maybe its her smile, or her positive personality or even just the fact that she's always there for me when I need her.

I don't deserve her, no matter how many times she tries to convince me otherwise. I still don't know how I ended up with someone like her.

"Life is crazy.." I chuckled,"One moment your sitting in a place you regret coming to. Then the next thing you know your walkin out with the number to the best person in you life." I said planting a kiss on her forehead,"Even if she is a huge tease." I laughed

She punched me in the arm and then continued to lay there.

"Andrew?"

"Yeah?"

"Promise me something, well two things. Ok?"

"What is it?"

"One is a request and the other is a question."

"Come on V, spill it out."

"First. Promise me you won't give up on me no matter what you hear about me. And second......"

"And second?"

"Promise me that one day. You will ask me that important question."

I gave my trademark smirk along with my reply.

"Firstly. There is no chance in hell I'm gonna give up on you. That is a problem we won't have."

That put a smile on her face and I saw a single tear fall.
