(A/N: this chapter will be in Valery's PoV. I wanted to try it out and if it works I will be doing it more often.)

I stood on the porch next to my mom waiting for him to get over here.

"What is taking you so long. Hurry up!" I almost wanted to shout. The urge to go up behind him and push him forward was driving me nuts.

He walked slowly like he was having daggers driven into him, then again, my mom was staring daggers into him. And thats just what she does. She's done this ever since I was little and I don't she plans on stopping any time soon.

After what seemed like hours, he stood right infront of my mom. He was slightly taller than her and his stony face gave him an edge over her trait.

My mom likes to catch people in fear, pry on that fear and eventually scare them off completely. This has worked a total of nineteen times, hopefully this won't make twenty. I really want this one to work.

"Good evening Mrs. Denision."

"Same to you." I swear I saw a smile on her face for a second as she said that.

"What is your name?" she asked

"Gallows. Andrew Gallows."

"Please come in. I would like to speak with you for a bit. If you can that is.

He looked at his watch.
"Don't you dare Drew!" Were the only words that ran across my mind at that point. And I think he noticed that as he followed my mom into the living room.

"Make yourself comfortable."

This was the first test. In the living room there are two very comfortable chairs and a rusted metal chair. All the others failed this test as they would pick the comfortable chairs.

I watched him carefully, hoping that he would actually make the right choice. I hips are sore from the tiny metal seat.

I watched as Andrew walked over to that same pain in the butt and attempted to sit in it. This chair looks like it came from a preschool and he looked like a complete idiot trying to sit in it.

Six foot two and low chairs just don't mix I guess.

After about five minutes of attempting the impossible he just stood against the wall and pushed the chair into the corner with his foot.

================================

Now that that was out of the way, and I'm pretty sure he passed, the next thing to do was the questions.

God I wished I had prepared him for this. My mom loves to ask a ton of questions, embarrassing and personal questions but mostly odd ones.

"What's your shoe size?"
"16 and a half"

"How many times have you had sex?"
I felt the heat explode around the room on that.
"N-never"

"Would you have sex with my daughter?"
Now I knew he felt my heat explode around the room.
"If she wants to."

"Is your father a part of your life?"
"....my father is dead."

My moms voice cracked during the next question and really, I didn't blame her.
"If I were to give my daughter to you what would you do with her?"
He hesitated for a moment, then he gave an answer that had me in tears, on the inside ofcourse.

"If harm came her way, I would become a shield.
If sadness came her way, I would become a safe haven.
If anger overtook her, I would be her vent.
I would die before I intentionally hurt her in any way, shape or form.
I would love her from then till the end." he placed his hand on his chest and grabbed something through his shirt. I know exactly what it was.
"That. I promise on my heart"
