"That's beautiful."
He jumped, dropping his own and scooting suddenly away from the sudden break in his concentration. His gaze affixed to the sender hand placed on the table next to him, her next words were fuzzy in his ears.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to startle you!"
She took her hand back hesitantly and held it close to her chest. She was having second thoughts about reaching out already.
"N-no..."
She looked up the floor, her bright eyes meeting his gray ones.
"It's okay... You like it?"
She smiled warmly and nodded her head.
"I love it."
