Elena and Matt are at the hospital. "How's Mr. Saltzman?" He asks.

"Resigned to spending the night in observation, so long as I promise to change the lock on the house." She tells him. "So I talked to Bonnie earlier. She and her mom are fine. Have you talked to Caroline?"

"Yeah, she's holding it together, considering how close she and her dad used to be. Any word on who's behind these attacks?"

"No, Sheriff Forbes said there's no real suspects at all." They walk out to the parking lot. "How are you dealing with everything? I mean, you keep getting dragged into all of this."

"Honestly...I'm kind of lucky, the only thing that I have to worry about for tomorrow, is showing up for my shift at the grill."

"Thank you, for everything today, really."

"Get home safe."

"Thanks." She sighs. Matt drives away and she gets into her car. She begins to pull out when she hits something. She gets out of her car and checks her bumper. There's nothing there.

Suddenly, Rebekah appears. "Drive much?"

Elena looks at her, fear in her eyes. "Rebekah."

Rebekah grabs Elena and pushes her against her car. "Surprised? You drove a dagger through my back, Elena. It hurt." She tries to bit Elena, who screams. Elijah appears, stopping her. Rebekah looks at him in annoyance. "Elijah."

"Leave." He orders her. Rebekah steps forward. "Are you challenging me?"

She looks between him and Elena. "You're pathetic. Both of you." She flashes away.

Elijah turns to Elena. "Well...I believe we have a little catching up to do."

At the Gilbert house, Elena speaks to the Salvatore's and Trinity. "It was their mother Esther who was sealed in that coffin." She tells them.

"As in the Original Witch?" Trinity asks.

"What?" Damon scoffs. "How is she even alive? Thought her hybrid freak show of a son ripped her heart out a thousand years ago."

"I don't know. I'm guessing she has a couple connections in the witching community. Elijah said that she wants to live in peace with her family, including Klaus." Elena tells them.

"She was supposed to be the weapon to help us kill Klaus." Stefan says.

"Well, not anymore...at least not according to Elijah."

"That coffin was the only thing stopping Klaus from tearing us to shreds."

"Anyone else feeling a little used right now?" Damon asks.

"Look, Elijah promised me that his family wouldn't hurt any of us." Elena says. The doorbell rings. "I believe him." She opens the door and sees a note on the ground. She picks it up.

"What is it?" Trinity asks.

"It's an invitation. 'Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration.'" She reads.

"Who the hell are the Mikaelson's?" Stefan asks.

"The Original Family." Trinity answers.

"It's not bad enough they're moving into town, now they want a housewarming gift?" Damon asks.

"Wait, there's a note on the back." Elena says. "'Elena, I think it's time that we finally meet, Esther.'"

At Klaus's mansion, music is playing.
