As we left the last chapter, Hardwyn was traveling home to his waiting girl, his fiancée, Azwelitia. But he was suddenly stopped by war ravaged demons. They wanted something, but he could not figure out what they wanted since at this point, he was a mere human with no powers. And to make matters worse, he was unarmed; meaning that he had no weapon to fight against these demons. What was he going to do? He just could not fight against these demons unarmed.

All of sudden, before he could blink an eye, he felt something cut him and then he saw blood dripping from his arm, but just as soon as he was cut the gash became a tiny cut and was healing fast. He could not believe what he was seeing. Just a second ago, he was cut, and there was a deep gash from a sword, and now the gash was almost completely healed. What was happening to his body? He starting to become afraid of his own human body. He started freaking out. He did not know how to react to the new way his body was healing his wounds. He was healing too quickly, and he was so afraid that he almost did not want to return home to his fiancée. He was afraid of what she might say when she found out that he was changing. He decided he needed to end this battle and quick, so he could escape somewhere that no one could find him.

So, he threw a couple of good punches to knock the demons out, and then changed his heading. He decided that if he could hide himself and try to change how he looked, maybe no one would try to look for him, if they did not know what he looked like. So, he traveled as far as he could and found a resting place inside a hollowed-out tree. He decided that this would a good place as any to rest for the night until morning. Till it was safe enough to get going and move further and further to find a completely safe place that no one would find him.

But as Azwelitia was trying to prepare the party and get the food on the table, she felt that something terrible had happened to her fiancé and he had decided to not come home. She felt him moving further and further away from the grottle and its habitat. She knew that if he was running way, well, she figured he had a reason, but she needed to find out why. So, she decided to bring the party to him. She told her friend, Mali, who had helped her bring Hardwyn back to the grottlino, with his faithful pet, Chiryu, a twelve-tailed demon cat, that she wanted to find Hardwyn and then bring the party to him. She knew that he had be alone and afraid. She figured that he had to be attacked by demons, otherwise he would have come straight home.

She said, "Mali, please, help me find my beloved. I am afraid he might be in trouble. He can't survive on his own. I am worried about him. He might have gotten into trouble and so has run away, because he does not want to see me. Please will you go look for him? As a dear friend? I want to know he is okay. Please."

Mali, who already was going to go look for the missing Hardwyn, said, "I was already going to go look for him, because I too was worried for his safety. I would have left sooner if it was not for this snowstorm that has blown in in these necks of the woods. Your cave will be covered by snow. I do not think I could leave for a little bit. I think the evil Tut and Laeros are up to their evil tricks again. I think the treaty your people had made with the demons has been broken. The demon realm and human world will be thrust into a war that even your ancestors would not have won if it were not for the two heroes and their friends that saved everyone and ended the war. You very well might be their descendant and reincarnation. So too could Hardwyn. But he will have to wait for a rescue. It is too dangerous to go out at the moment. He will have to fend for himself until the storm passes; I just hope he will be okay. I worry for his safety."

Azwelitia did too, because he had not been in the underground for very long, so did not know how to deal with its scary monsters or the fact that the weather changed all too quickly. He ended up in an all too sticky spot like his fiancée and her friend, which was that while traveling, he got caught in a torrential downpour of rain. He had started to move from his hiding spot, but soon had to find another as soon as possible, or risk being covered by water and getting sick. But then, someone came down, swooped him up, and brought him to a place that was warm and sunny. He must have started to get sick as he could not travel any further, when this hero saved him.
