Tomorrow is my date with Logan and I'm not excited. He keeps coming over to my house to "talk" to my father. He's also spent two nights with us for dinner. My parents forced me to sit next to him. They don't see how evil he is because he's covering it with that "good boy" act. I've been sitting with Alec most of the week at lunch, although Logan has made me sit with him and his ungodly friends a few times. Everyone knows that we're going on a date Friday and it's the worse thing ever. All the girls hate me and all the guys are looking at me in way I don't like.
" Miss Hale, could you please tell me where Rome is?"
" Yes ma'am." I reply as I get up and point on a blank map where Rome is.
" Good job. Next time please be paying attention and not in space."
" I'm sorry."
" Please see me after class." she tells me before continuing on with her lesson.
I swear Logan is getting me in more trouble than he knows. I can't believe I am letting him get to me. The bell rings ending class. Everyone leaves the room and I stay behind like Mrs. White asked me to.
" Miss Hale, is there anything going on?"
" No ma'am."
" You know you can tell me anything honey. I know something is up. You've been acting differently since homecoming."
Memories flash in my mind of homecoming night. The way he pushed me against the alley wall saying he knows I want him. The look in his eye.
" I'm okay." I assure her.
" Did something happen at homecoming?"
" I didn't go."
" Doesn't mean that nothing happened that night. I know bad things can happen to girls on nights like that, especially to pretty ones like you."
" Please, nothing happened." I say.
" Okay. I'm here if you would like to talk."
I gather my books and walk out of the classroom. Yes something did happen, but nothing will happen because there is no proof. Only three people know what happened that night and one of them is a monster. I start walking to my next class when suddenly I am pulled away by someone. I am pulled into a dark room as someone pushes me against the wall. I don't like this and try to fight the figure.
" Luna, what are you doing?" the voice says.
" Alec?"
" Yes it is me. What are you doing?"
" I thought you were Logan. He did that to me."
" I am so sorry. I wasn't thinking." he replies.
" It's okay. I'm glad it's you."
I pull him into a hug and he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him. In this moment everything seems right. I feel safe.
" Let's get out of here." he whispers.
" Ditching?"
" What? Have you never ditched?"
" Yeah, but for reasons." I say.
" Well, you have that date tomorrow, I thought I could teach you a few moves to protect yourself if needed."
