" Don't forget to have your projects ready to present next week." our teacher yells as the bell rings.

Projects, homework, tests. I swear it never ends. There is a theory I have about teachers. They get together and plan this all out so they can torture all of us throughout the year. Sometimes they see how much pain we are in and plan pop quizzes. Like all this on our plates aren't enough? I look for Charlie while walking down the hall. He's suppose to take me to the gym to see Alec. Let's see how this all works out. I stop by my locker to grab a notebook and to put up my history textbook.

" LUNA!" Logan's voice yells out.

" Go away Logan. I don't want to talk."

" Please. I am sorry about last night. I just want us to be on the same page and I thought we were."

" Well, next time check."

" Can we talk about this?"

" I have to get going. I'm meeting a friend." I say as I walk away.

Logan fights to get past a few people to reach me. I am getting ready to start yelling when Charlie finds me.

" Are you ready to go?"

" Yes. Hurry." I reply looking back to see Logan is close.

Charlie takes my wrist and pulls me behind him. All I want right now is a break. Is that too much to ask for?

Alec's Pov

I am boxing my trainer when Charlie and Luna come into the gym. My trainer sees that I get distracted by Luna and tries to fight me hard to get me focused again. I end up get violent with my trainer and Luna gets scared.

" I'm done." I tell my trainer.

" Really? Already?"

" Yeah, I'm not feeling it today."

" Is it the girl?" he questions quietly.

" Yes, she's been through some things."

" Gotcha. See you tomorrow."

" Night."

Charlie throws me a towel and I dry off as he helps me wrap my hands. I'm not one to fight with gloves, so my hands can get bruised and bloody easily. Luna smiles at me and I smile back. Gosh, that smile. Her smile.

" I didn't think you were one to compete in the ring."

" I told you that I was a fighter." I reply back.

" Yes, you did, however I didn't imagine you fighting in the ring."

" I didn't imagine you being with Logan, so I guess we are both shocked."

" He's not that bad." she tells me again.

" Really? Then how come you didn't sit with him today at lunch? How come you ignored him the whole day? Did he do something?"

" It's none of your business."

" YOU NEEDED A BREAK LUNA! SOMETHING HAPPENED!" I yell at her.

" I NEED A BREAK FROM EVERYTHING ALEC!"

" What are you getting at?"

" I need to get away for a while. I was hoping you would be able to help me. I have the money, but I don't have a place to go." she says.

" So what you're running away?"

" In a way, yes. So, will you help me or not?"

" One condition. I get to come with."

" Sure. When is the soonest we can leave?"

" Tonight." I tell her in a serious tone.

" Hold on. Hold on a minute. You two can't leave." Charlie says laughing. " Did you two forget we have school? And Luna, your boyfriend is Logan Smith. If he finds out what you are doing he's going to beat the shit out of both of you. He'll win trust me. He always did."

I look at Charlie with a die look because now Luna is going to ask me questions. Questions that Logan has not explained to her about.

" What is he getting at? What is Charlie talking about Alec?"

" Nothing Luna. He's crazy."

" Me? Crazy? Please, Alec, you and I both know that you and Logan are keeping a secret from Luna. Look, Logan and Alec fought together back in the day after his sister got killed from her crazy ass boyfriend. One fight they had a falling out about something and no one ever saw them fight together again. Logan stopped coming around and fell into the wrong crowd." Charlie tells Luna.

" My boyfriend is also a fighter?"

" No. He was. He's nothing now." I tell her. " And as for you Charlie, you need to shut the hell up. Nothing you say is going to make sense so keep it inside your little fucking head."

" Whatever man. What is y'alls plan? You running or not?"

" Yeah, we are. Luna, go home and pack a small bag. Bring very important things and if you leave any technology behind make sure to delete and clear everything. Meet me at Miss Mary's Shop around seven."

" Are we really doing this?" she asks as she takes my hand in hers.

At this moment, I want to grab her face and kiss her. I want to tell her she has nothing to worry about. Instead I say yes and tell Charlie to take her home. I'll get through to her on our trip. Hopefully.
