Lukas grabbed his inventory in the chest, most of which included: the notes, a damaged iron sword, cooked chicken, and the picture of him and Jesse. He hesitated, taking one last look at the picture and putting it in his pocket.

Cassie had her arms folded across her chest as he returned.

"Ready?" She asked briskly.

"No, but let's do this." Lukas said, a bitter smile on his face. Cassie grinned.
"Follow me."

-A little bit later-

With Cassie leading the way, the two quickly and carefully headed toward Winslow and the portal room, nervousness pulsing through them as they stopped every once and a while to hide from PAMA's redstone captives.

Sometimes the wrong step or a heavy breath would make them turn, making their hearts beat a hundred times faster than they were before.

After a while, they finally made it to the portal room, Lukas could see it glowing a swirling green. He could also see Winslow, near the portal in a tiny cage that was locked and cramped.
Just one problem...

"Dammit," Cassie cursed under her breath, seeing about ten to fifteen people under PAMA's control.

"How are we gonna get past them?" Lukas whispered. "They're guarding the whole room."

Cassie thought for a minute.

"I'll distract them, you get Winslow and get the hell out of here. Same plan." She took out her diamond axe, enchanted and its point gleaming.

He nodded, then gave her a thumbs up as she went into the room.

"PAMA!" Cassie shouted, bringing everyone's attention to her. "The prisoner has escaped!"

The people's eyes shone a flash of red.
"WHAT?!" PAMA screeched, anger in its voice.

"I think I know where he went! Follow me!" Cassie shouted, and ran in the opposite direction. The others gave a confused and angry look, and then followed, leaving the room empty.

Lukas sighed with relief, and entered the room, quickly running to Winslow.
"I'm gonna get you out Winslow." He said, voice shaky.

The calico cat's face lit up as it mewed. Lukas took out his worn or iron sword and prepared to slash.

"Watch out." He said warningly, and then slashed down on the cage with so much force it broke and dented. The sword 'poofed' and the disappeared into smoke.

"Crap," he said. "Well, at least I got you out Winslow. Now just wait here, Cassie will be here any moment now-"

Winslow suddenly made a screeching sound, which made Lukas stop and look at him in confusion.

"LUKAS!" PAMA's voice screamed, just as he was tackled by a captive.

He struggled, their grip sinking into his skin, pain stinging his body.

"I knew it," it began to laugh. "I'm not as stupid as you think. I knew Cassandra would turn at some point."

"Let-go-!"

PAMA laughed.
"You. Because of you." It whispered, and surprisingly, it's grip loosened.

Lukas took the opportunity, punching it back and scrambling for the portal, confusion a state of mind.

"She won't accept you Lukas." PAMA said, and he froze, about a foot in front of the portal. He knew it was talking about Jesse.

"What?"

"I've seen her Lukas. I've seen the pain that she's in. I've felt it. The hurt in her eyes, the way she acts. And it's all because of you."

His eyes widened, turning back to look at him.

"I know Jesse. She loves me, and I love her." But even as he said it, he felt doubt in his chest.

"Maybe you don't know her well enough." PAMA said.

Lukas hesitated, and then stepped in the portal.
