I don't know much about pack life. That's because the Alpha kept me in his room for the next 6 days I was kept in his room with nothing to do. After the first 2 days I gave up on finding a way to escape because after the third time the Alpha found me out in the forest he said that if I left the room again my cousins would pay for it so I sat in the room. After a bit I started reading his books. I sighed as he came in, "You need to get new books."
"You've been reading them?" He asked.
"You have me locked in here all day and there's nothing else to do in this place." I replied. "But seriously, something like Stephen King would be great. Heck I'd take Harper Lee at this point."
"Horror?" He questioned.
I gave him a are-you-stupid look, "I'm a Rouge, packs don't terrify me. And he's a good writer."
"I'd let you out but you would only escape." He said.
"Gee I wonder why, I mean it's not like you haven't give me any reason other than threats to stay." I replied sarcastically.
"You don't like me."
"I hate you." I answer simply. "You suck at first impressions."
He raised an eyebrow, "You're the first to think so."
I scoff, "I highly doubt that. I'm the first to say it maybe but not the first to think it. You were going to kill a 19 year old and two 17 year old's for simply passing through. You processed to then give your mate the option of either staying or you kill her... That's just the air around the the cake. Not even the frosting."
"Okay what would you like to do?" He asked.
"I want to go home." I answer honestly. "But I'm probably never going to see it again."
"Where's home for a Rouge?" He asked sitting down next to me on the bed.
"Across the country." I answered. "It's a small no man's land that no pack wants. It's forested and there's a few small town around it. I have a small place on the edge of the forest and work at the dinner in the small town. The humans there are nice. No other Rouges because it's just a small piece by itself."
"Alicia," He said softly. "I'm your mate, you can-"
"No offense Alpha, but I don't know you. All I know is that if I step out of line my family will pay for it. And everything that's not keeping them safe is a waste of my time, so forgive me if I don't feel the need to pretend we're really mates."
He ran his hand along my arm, "Those sparks prove we're really mates."
I move my arm away from him, "There is a difference between being mates and loving each other. And I don't plan on making that leap. Not when you're taking away my freedom."
"I'm not taking your freedom away Alicia." He said.
"I've sent the past 6 days locked up in here. I haven't seen my cousins once. I have no freedom." I told him. "I don't see why you even want me here. I'm not Luna material, I don't want to be. I don't want a pack or a mate or to stay here when you kill my kind for even stepping foot here."
"Rouges are dangerous he argued. Wild and-"
"I am a Rouge." I snapped standing up. "And trust me, it seems Rouges have more manners then packs. When I'm near a pack I'm called 'it' like they can't see my gender. The packs treat us like we're stupid just because we don't live like them. Some Rouges are dangerous. Some are stupid. But some pack members are dangerous and stupid and reckless just like some Rouges. But at least we don't all act like we're better then packs. But God forbid I'm treated like I'm a human being, or wolf, because I don't want to join the mob of stuck up assholes!"
