"We're almost there." I said. "I have a few things I need to do when we get to the town."
"What?" He asked.
"Well for starters, quit my job," I said. "Make arrangements for my place. A few small things."
"Job?"
"I'm a waitress," I said. "Or I was."
"You'll be Luna. You don't need any other job," he said.
"I don't want to be Luna." I sighed and glanced at him. "I'm not Luna material."
"You have Alpha blood and you're my mate," he replied.
"I can't change my blood or the fact that I have a mate. Trust me I've tried. It was easier as a Rouge though."
He growled, "You aren't a Rouge anymore Alicia."
"I wish I was still a Rouge," I muttered. "Because at least then I was free."
"Free?" He scoffed at me. "Rouges are hunted."
"I know," I whispered as I thought back. I know better than most about how hunted Rouges are. How far Alphas are willing to go.

Home. It's the first word that came into my head when the Alpha pulled up to my little cabin. I sighed and let out a real smile for the first time in a while. "Home." He parked and I got out enjoying the familiar scent of woods and the flowers I had planted around my cabin. I walked up to the door and unlocked it. I looked to see the Alpha examining my cabin. "I know it's tiny compared to your pack house but this is my home."
He frowned and I went inside. Everything was in the same place I had left it. There was still a half empty diet coke on my kitchen counter where I had forgotten it in the rush to leave. I dumped out what was left and tossed it in the recyclables. I'm glad I had taken out the trash and cleared my fridge before I left so nothing smelled. I got a duster and quickly got the thin layer of dust that had settled over a few things. My cabin is small. It has the kitchen/dinning room, that openly connects to my living room, then there's the hallway that leads to the small library, a bathroom, and a weapons room. Along side that hallway was the staircase up to my room, a guest room, office and another room I had converted into a library/weapons room. I'm a Rouge and I like reading. It had wooden floor boards but it's frame was made with a concrete flooring under the wood. The living room had brick where the fire place is and the kitchen had tiling along with the bathrooms that I had painted blue.
I went through out my place to get the little cleaning out of the way. When I found the Alpha again he was in my weapons room downstairs. "I'm guessing this is way you couldn't take a plane."
"This is just a weapons room. It's not the only place where there are weapons," I said. "I had to be able to protect myself no matter where in the cabin I was." We walked out of the room and into my living room.
"You really were a Rouge your whole life." The Alpha said as I checked all of my weapons and put them back.
"Yeah," I said watching as he looked around. "You seem surprised."
He nodded, "This place, you, it's not what I..."
"What you expected of a Rouge," I finished for him. "You expect a Rouge to be vicious and wild. To live in dumps filled with weapons and maimed bodies. A house from a bloody horror movie."
"Alicia-"
"It's fine. I'm use to it," I said. "There are some Rouges like that. They've gone mad. There are humans and pack wolves like that too though. Not all of us live like that though. Rouges like me, like my aunt and uncle, the twins, and for a while Lydia, we don't live like that. We live our lives a bit like humans, and even packs. Virginia and Jeff were Rouges before they had Lydia and the twins. Some Rouges find their mates, or someone they love, and they start a family. Others, like Jonah and I move around. This is my permanent place. I come and leave as I want. The humans are use to it so I can always have a job and a life in this town. But I can also go wherever I want without having anything or one to hold me back. It's free. It's the life I choose to live."
