I tried to play it off but my eyes were a little wide and I was pretty sure I was hyperventilating.

"What?" I asked him as I tried to convince myself the walls weren't closing in on me.

"Is 'she' actually a boy?" Greg repeated.

"No!" I said a little too defensively.

My mom looked at me, then Greg, then back at me. While Taylor just sat staring at me, jaw hanging open.

"William." My mom said. Oh no.
"Do you..." She didn't finish so I didn't answer. "Do you like boys?" I tried to read her before answering. I couldn't tell what she was thinking or what her emotions were. I didn't know how any of them would react if I said yes but I didn't know if I could lie and say no.

"I-" I tried but the words seemed stuck in my throat. "I mean..." I tried again.

"Will..." I heard Taylor say, I couldn't decipher her tone. None of them could talk either. Why weren't they saying anything? Were they that disappointed in me? I did the most logical thing I could think of.

"I'm sorry." I whispered before racing up the stairs.

I locked myself in my room for the second time that day.
I went to the window on the far said of my room and tears raced down my face. I could barely breath and was shaking as I climbed out of my window and onto the roof, where nobody could see or hear me cry. I knew I needed to talk to somebody or I'd do something stupid. I pulled my phone from my jeans pocket and pressed the first name I saw. I looked up at the sky, I couldn't see much through my tears but I could tell the stars were still appearing so it wasn't that late. The phone was picked up.
"Hey Solace, what's up?" Nico greeted.

"Nico-" My voice broke at the end of his name.

"Hey, are you okay? Are you hurt?" He panicked.

"Sort of." I croaked out.

"What's wrong?" Concern laced his words.

"My- my family found out I'm gay."

"How'd they take it?" He asked gently.

"They were speechless, I think-" my voice stopped working momentarily, "I think they might hate me. I think I disappointed them."

"Will you're not a disappointment."

"How do you know?" I asked him, choking back a sob.

"I know you." It was quiet for a second.

"Nico I need you." I whispered to him.

"I'll be over in like ten minutes keep talking to me." He said.

"Thank you."

"Anytime."

"I'm on the roof by the way." I felt I should tell him.

"Can I climb up to you or do I have to go through the house?"

"I think you can climb."

"Okay. Tell me exactly what happened when they found out."
So I told him, starting at when I sat at the table, ending when I called him. By the time I was done I was crying heavily but could see him coming into my yard.
"I see you." I told him.
