Chapter 5

Carlos's P.O.V 

Tourney try outs didn't go to well for one thing i'm not athletic plus we didn't have stuff like this on the isle. Jay made the team and well i just need a little more work before i make the team. Ben offered to help me and i was a little relieved so now we were practicing my running i succeeded that's because a dog was chasing me and i was afraid of dogs. " Carlos?....Carlos! " Ben yelled and about that moment i was already up a tree. " Ben?....Ben? this thing is dangerous it's gonna chase me down and rip out my throat this is a viscous ravage pack animal " I said fear laced in my voice " who told you that " Ben asked bending down to the dog " my mother " i said while Ben smiled a little " Cruella " Ben asked picking up the Dog. " She's a dog expert dog yellerer" I said then i paused " why are you holding him he's gonna attack you " i yelled in fear. Ben introduced me to Dude and i found myself not afraid of dogs no more. " Hey have you seen Phoenix " i asked as Ben smiled at me " she's practicing on shooting her bow and arrow " Ben said as i left to go find her. 

When i found her she was shooting arrows at the target successfully. " Is this what you always do after school " I asked smiling as catching her attention " yeah pretty much but hey i don't mind it sort of a way to get my anger out " she said letting go of another arrow hitting the center of the target. " why do you have so much anger bottled up " i asked as she sighed taking a drink of water. " because...of...Audrey " she said clenching her bow in her hand tightly. "  What does she do " I asked and about that moment we both heard a voice " hey freak you gonna rob the rich again you little thief  " Audrey said as Phoenix growled picking up and arrow trying her hardest not to shoot it at Audrey. " that is what she does she calls me a thief, a freak, and says this saying" Phoenix said shooting an arrow at the target " phoenix the daughter of Robin wonder how it'll take her to shoot arrows in the isle " Audrey chanted while Phoenix handed me her bow and arrow then she headed to Audrey. 

Phoenix's P.O.V 

I was furious and I couldn't take that bitch's attitude anymore so i handed my bow and arrow to Carlos so i wouldn't be tempted to shoot an arrow at her. " Alright prince John Jr. keep on I told you so many times that my father had a good reason to rob the rich. He did to feed the poor. While all your mother did was sleep for 100  years so shut up " i said smirking to myself while she had a offended look on her face " Oh and btw where's your posse sheriff " i said laughing to my self while she stormed off. Score i used both of my father's enemies to insult her and to be fair she was acting like them. 

Carlos stood there shocked and confused " who were you talking about " he asked as i laughed a little " Prince John and the Sheriff were my father's enemies " I said as he nodded understanding. " don't listen to Audrey she's just jealous on how beautiful you are " Carlos said as i blushed i mean i heard it before from my parents but not by a really cute boy. I looked at Carlos and smiled grabbing my bow and arrow then continued to shoot arrows " So did you make the tourney team " I asked releasing my arrow and hitting the center of the target again. " yeah but i'm not that good " He said sounding disappointed " Don't say that you just need practice " I said as he smiled at me. I walked towards him and kissed his cheek making him blush. 

I then turned to the target and smirked to myself almost all of them were in the center of the target. " Hey how about i show you how to shoot an arrow " I said as he looked frightened " are you sure " he asked as i nodded then handed him the bow and went to get an arrow from my bag. " Okay let's get started " I said positioning his hands properly " okay pull back and let go " i said as he did what he was told but he missed the target completely. " you need to work on your aim " I said smiling a bit as he smiled " that and practice " i said as he bowed his head " what's the use i'll never be good as you " he said sadly as i frowned " Carlos i wasn't naturally born with these skills i had to practice and so did my father at one point " I said putting my hand on my hip. 

Carlos smiled and tried again and he actually hit the target i smiled as i watched him. " Thank you for showing me how to shoot a bow and arrow " he said as i smiled " your welcome " i said hugging him and he hugged back. 

Carlos's P.O.V 

I'm pretty sure my face was a tomato right now. Phoenix pulled out of the hug and smiled " Well i have to go my parents will get worried if i'm not home soon  " she said as i nodded she grabbed her bag and her bow and arrow and walked off leaving me dazed and red faced. I held dude in my arms smiling to myself. I shook myself out of my thoughts and looked and saw Phoenix talking on the phone " Hey i thought you were going home " i said as she laughed " my parents will worry if i'm not home soon that's true,  but they won't worry if they know i'm gonna be late " she said smiling and heading inside then going into Mal and Evie's dorm.
