One Final Wish

Chapter Twenty Four

Carter's P.O.V

I've been here at Auntie Nic's again. It's a good thing that the girls are here comforting me. They even called Auntie Diney. I love them so much. I've been crying for hours now. I think back on the events earlier, I can't take all the shouting and arguing because I hate that.

"Babe, you okay now?" Auntie Nic asked me. They've been asking me if I'm okay every 10 minutes making me smile slightly.

"Yes, Auntie Nicola, I'm better now" I said to her she smiles at me and sit beside me. I'm leaning on Auntie Sarah and noticed she's kinda uncomfortable so I sat up straight, move a little bit and just laid my head on her lap. She started stroking my hair.

"Nadine's calling" Auntie Kim said accepting the call and putting it on loudspeaker.

'Hello?' Aunt Diney said.

'Hiya' We all said at the same time making us giggle.

'Oh so eveything's alright now?'

'Kinda' Auntie Sarah replied still stroking my hair.

'Why?'

'They're still not talking' Auntie Nic said. I covered my face because everytime I remember it, it makes me sad again.

'Aww, I'm gonna kick Cheryl's ass when I got there' It made me giggle a bit.

'Thanks, Auntie Diney but I won't let you do that to my mam' I giggled.

'It's good to hear you not upset honey' I smiled and look up to the other girls and saw them smiling.

'It's tiring me a bit' I said then the doorbell rang.

'I'll get it' Aunt Nic said standing up and walking towards the door.

'So how're you feeling' Aunt Diney asked with a worried tone on her voice.

'Hurt. but I'll be better soo-' Someone cut me off.

"Carter?" I sat up straight and look up to see who it was. There's mam standing there.

" Mam? What're you doing here?" I said not looking at her instead I lay my head on Aunt Sarah's lap.

' Honey, Who's that' Aunt Diney asked. I didn't reply so Auntie Kim answered.

'It's Cheryl' She whispered. Tears forming in my eyes again. Why is she here? I thought she didn't care for me.She's been ignoring me earlier and now she's here.

"Carter, please come home now" She whispered. I still didn't move.

"Cart, I think you should talk to your mum" Auntie Sarah whispered in my ear rubbing my arm. I wiped my tears and sat up.

"We're just going to the kitchen and let you two talk." Auntie Sarah said standing up and grabbing Auntie Kim's phone. The other girls nodded then they went into the kitchen leaving me and mam all alone in the front room. There's a few minutes of silence before she broke it.

"I'm really sorry..." she whispered. I didn't move, I didn't turn around to look at her, I just sat there staring at nothing, eyes are getting blurried from the tears. I covered my face and start to cry and I can't stop.

"Oh my baby" I heard her whisper. I don't see her but I can feel her she's right infront of me kneeling on the floor having second thoughts on what to do but then I felt her arms slowly around me hugging me close. I immediately hugged her back taking her by surprise. God, I missed her. I cried on her shoulder until I'm drained and I can't cry anymore and I can't breath properly. I try to steady my breathing while I'm still hugging her, I don't want to let go.

"I-I thought y-you don't care for m-me anymore" I sniffed. She rubs my back and slightly standing up from the floor to sit beside me. I still didn't let her go.

"That will never happen babe. Never" I hugged her tighter making her fall on her back on the couch. She giggled and hugged me tight.

"I'm so sorry" She whispered. I pulled away sitting straight and looked at her and smiled.

" You can stop peaking now and come out here" I yelled making mam laugh. The girls appeared with big smiles on their faces.

"Problem solved" Auntie Nic said grinning. I hugged mam again making her fall back again giggling.

"Cute" Aunt Sarah chuckled. We laughed and sat up straight.

"I'm tired and I wanna go home" I said rubbing my eyes.

"Okay, we'll go home" Mam said planting a kiss on my forehead and standing up. I stood up aswell giving the girls a kiss and a hug.

"Thanks guys for everything" I said. They all smile at me and hugged me at the same time. I giggled. We walked out of the house and into the car. Joe, mam's driver started driving. I sat close to mam on the backseat resting my head on her shoulders and looked out the window.

"Mam?"

" Hmm?"

" How did she take it?" I asked.

" Who?" She said confused.

"Nan" She took a deep breath.

" Honestly, I don't know babe. Sometime's mam is very hard to read. But I think she understands. she's just shocked." She said. I sighed. Mam started yo move her shoulder up and down making my head fall down from it making her laugh. I looked at her.

"What?I'm just messin'" She pulled an innocent face. I laugh at her.

"We're here" Joe said.

"Thanks Joe," She looked up to me. "Let's go" I nodded and opened the door and got out of the car. I ran inside the house and went straight to mam's room collapsing in her bed. My eyes is swollen and heavy from all the crying earlier and I just want to sleep. I take off my shoes and go to my room to change into PJ's and went back to mam's room jumping on the bed and hiding in the covers. I don't want to sleep yet but my eyes just won't let me too. I hugged a pillow. My eyes are getting heavier so I closed them but eventually I fell asleep
