Charlotte's POV:
I settled myself down beside the piano and Ricky joined me.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Hell no," I said.
"You will be fine. Who is first?" Ricky asked.
"Connor and Joe," I said.
"Okay. Bring them in," Ricky said.
"I don't think I am ready ... I'm no coach!" I said.
Ricky took hold of my shoulders.
"You need to stop being self deprecating. You need to keep your head high and do your best ... Whoops ... Sorry," He said.
I shook my head.
"I get it all the time. Do your best is such a commonly used saying," I said.
Ricky grinned.
"Bring forth the victims ... Opps did I say victims ... I meant contestants," I said.
Ricky laughed and clapped me on the shoulder.
Connor and Joe came in.
"Hello. How are you doing?" I greeted them both civially.
"Good," Connor said without looking at me.
"I'm fine thanks Charlie. Hello Ricky how are you?" Joe asked.
Ricky smiled.
"Splendidly well. I don't think any of us thought we'd be standing here today," Ricky said.
Joe nodded.
Connor smirked.
Ohh dear. Here comes trouble.
The song I have chosen for them is Kenny Loggins' Footloose.
"Okay. The song I have chosen for you is Kenny Loggins Footloose. How do you feel about that one?" I asked.
"Brilliant!" Joe said.
Connor shrugged.
Ricky got me a guitar and i played it for them as we worked through the different parts of the song. Before they sung it I sung it how I would have sung it. I will do this for all of the contestants. I am not gonna make them sing a song that i can not do. That would be hypocritical of me. The only exception is when a song is PERFECT for them.
Ricky watched in amazement.
"You know. I always had you down as an acoustic sort of girl but i reckon you sound good with electric guitar and a rocky kind of voice," Ricky approved.
"Thanks!" I said. I then passed the guitar to Ricky and then i put on a backing and let them do their thing.
When I was happy to let them go and do their homework i called for the next contestants.
Rhiannon and James.
Rhiannon came in and stopped dead in the doorway causing James to bang into her.
"Woahh Rhi!" James said.
"Sorry. Charlie you didn't tell us your battle adviser was Ricky Wilson!" Rhiannon exclaimed.
"Heyya!" Ricky said giving a small wave.
Rhiannon went so red it was unbelivable.
"What's the matter Rhiannon?" I asked.
I got up and guided her over to the paino.
"Sorry but I am just a big fan of the Kaiser Chiefs!" Rhiannon said.
