|Chresanto's POV|
I watched my mother crying her eyes for this girl, I don't understand why- never understood why it affected her so much..affected me so much. I stared at her lifeless body as she laid in that bed, my mother holding onto her with hope and regret. The police asked us a bunch of stupid questions about what happened between the two, thinking we were a threat to them or some sh*t. They didn't care with one of us dead or one of us in a deep sleep to the end of time, they didn't care. Brianna's been getting worse and we need to get her into a hospital, maybe there'll be a miracle to bring her back, I mean.. I may have been a bitter peel of citrus when it comes to her but I did catch some feelings for. I don't know, without her, I feel lost and days have gone slow, I was such a jerk, I wish I could at least take some back... I mean I'm a blunt guy but I didn't think of myself coming off that rude as I am already but.. I shouldn't have.
I tugged at my black tie and fixed up my hair then slowly walked over to my mother. We had to go to the Maggie's funeral, I placed a hand on her shoulder and took a seat next to her.
Chresanto : I know you're hurting badly, ma.
Trudy : crying
Chresanto : I'm sorry but we need to go and i'm waiting on you.
Trudy : nods and sighs deeply
Chresanto : I'll be in the car-
Trudy : Chresanto.... I know it's weird to be crying over someone you barely knew but... she was like a daughter to me, we shared something special.
Chresanto : She'll wake up soon, you just need to give her time. gulps
Trudy : She won't-
Chresanto : SHE WOULD. sighs in stress
Trudy : stares at him for a while Let's go.
She grabbed my hand as I guided her way outside and into the car..I've never seen her in so much pain, I've never seen both of us so torn apart, so easily. We made our way downtown safely, the police may have not helped us that well but there was one thing they helped us with, keeping them off the grounds when it's the funeral date. We all gathered around, shared few thoughts and memories of Grandma Maggie, I decided to make a little speech, right after my mother, "She was my mother.", my mother finished off while she held her hand to her heart bravely. She stepped off of the stage ledge, because we were outside, but this was good enough, no matter what..it's still something that Maggie will smile about, a very thankful women.
I started off shortly, "My name is Chresanto. As all of you may know, I'm one of her grandsons. Grandma Maggie had a heart, a big heart", people agreed willingly. "When I was younger, she use to make the best mac and cheese i'd ever taste, with some red beans and rice, that did me well", they shared a few giggles. "My Aunt always use to tell me stories about her and Grandma Maggie, about the time they agreed to disagree", I nodded as they shared more laughs. "They may have a few arguments but she was quick to tell me about the great times where they laugh it off and even share a few hugs. They made things better and up to January, 17...she still use to make me that delicious meal of mac and cheese", I said while tearing up surprisingly, "My Grandma was the best, always told me to be a good boy and live life to the fullest. She was my granny, my best friend, my Grandma Maggie", I finished off and stepped off the stage while wiping off a few tears.
I stepped aside next to my mother as she stared at me lovingly, "You were great and that was beautiful, sweetie". As the head of this funeral, Papa John, my grandfather - we call him that because his name is John, people call him Papa and he loves pizza, I was guessing he was going to lead off the funeral ad tell them that they were going to send off the casket. He was slightly interrupted by car speakers blasting out some B.I.G. music. I looked to see someone coming out of the car... Nelly, what the hell is he doing here? He then walked up to our area but a police ma stopped in front of him, I slightly grinned and followed everyone else but still looking at him, he shared a few words then pushed him aside gently yet harsh. The man nodded and watched him stand there, they all finished putting the casket in and people got ready to leave, I decided to make my way over to him.
