of your senses,

stray thoughts

flash like minnows,

igniting tangent

streams of attachment

that engender

a real-to-you

experience,

poignant and immediate.


If this happens,

simply wade through

and resume your position.

Conditioning,

plus deeply held beliefs

on the nature of reality

form the lens

through which you

perceive.


Eventually

you learn

to adjust

the focal point

and, when you're ready,

leave it open

to infinity.
