A few weeks later, Hermione, Harry and Dudley were high above the standards of their classmates. They were able to do most work the teachers set them, and they never had any trouble with the work. They also had a lot of fun outside the learning environment. Harry wrote home often, and Dudley wrote most of the time. Hermione wrote as often as Harry.
At breakfast in late October, an owl arrived for them, bearing a letter:

Harry, Dudley- and I assume Hermione!
How are you? I'm glad to hear that lessons are going so well. How's Sev? He sent me an owl a week ago to say how well you are performing! All of the teachers are impressed, according to his report! I'm mostly writing to wish Ravenclaw luck in their upcoming match against Slytherin- Padfoot says that if you don't win, Harry, you'll be grounded all holiday! In his words, "Those dirty snakes had better not win, or Harry will be grounded all holiday for not beating them."
How is Ron? I hear from Molly that he is a Hufflepuff, and rather upset about it. He is rather sensitive, so be kind to him, he'll come round.
Dudley, Remus suggested that you look more at the beater tactics, he says you have the right build for a beater, and that you should try out next year, which I strongly second!
Hermione, thank you for putting up with my boys, you must visit over the holidays, if your parents will allow it, that is.
All my love,
Mum. Xxx
Attached to the letter was a huge box, which was eagerly opened by he children. It contained several sweets, including five boxes a chocolate frogs each. They all opened one.
"Hey, I got Agrippa!" Harry whispered, "that's one of the only ones Ron is missing. Wait a sec."  He stood up and moved over to the Hufflepuff table.
"Hey, Ron. I got this chocolate frog card and thought that you might like it, as its the only one you're missing. I miss you, can we please be mates again?"
Ron turned around, and his eyes went wide when he saw Agrippa. He thanked Harry several times, and then agreed to be mates again, and said that him and Neville would meet them again at break.

When break arrived, all five of them met outside, and quickly found the warmest croner of the courtyard. Ron started the conversation.

"Look, guys, sorry I've been off for a few days, I've always assumed I'd be Griffindor, just like my Mum and Dad so I found being in Hufflepuff a little hard to take. Now I've got used to it, so I'll be a better mate." He looked around, nervosely.

"Well, you've been my mate years, so I'm never going to say no!" Harry replied.

They all headed to their next lessons, and Ron found he kept up a lot better with three Ravenclaws as friends!
