CHAPTER 3

I enter the dinning room to find Peeta and Lawson enjoying the breakfast of champions cheese buns, hot chocolate, muffins, and yogurt parfaits.

"Good morning." Peeta says with his mouth full of cheese buns.

"Good morning." I say sleepily.

Once Peeta downs his food he rise and leans over to kiss me softly on the lips. "How are you this morning?" Peeta asks.

"Starving." I say. It's true. The moment I smelled the cheese buns down the hall my stomach growled, reminding me that I haven't eaten anything in the past twenty-four hours.

"Well, I think I'll go wake up Trace, its almost time for them to meet downstairs." Peeta says.

"I'll do it." I rise from my seat.

"Are you sure, you haven't eaten yet." Peeta says.

"It's fine." I say. "It would probably be easier if I went to instead of you."

"Whats that suppose to mean?" Peeta asks.

"I'm a girl. She needs all the help she can get." I say. I lean forward to peck Peeta on the lips then head down the hallway to Traces room. I knock on the door slightly. "Trace?" I say.

"Come in." a little muffled voice calls.

I open the door and to find Trace standing at the window. When I walk in I realize this is my old room.

I find Trace playing with the remote that controls your view of the window. She stops at the woods.

"Trace, you should eat." I say.

"What is this?" Trace asks.

"The woods?" I ask.

"That is what it is called?" Trace asks with her eyes still on the window.

"You don't know what the woods are?" I ask.

"Capitol children don't have the need for school here." Trace explains.

"Trace, you don't have to go to school to know what the woods are." I say a little too harsh. "Sorry. You should come eat. You have to be down in the training center at seven." I say.

I leave her room and enter the hallway. I stop before I reach the dinning room and wait. She's never heard of the woods. What do these poor children do besides watch the games and laugh hysterically at the amusement of our death.

I enter the dinning room to find just Peeta.

"Were is Lawson?" I ask.

"He went with Portia so he could prepare for training." Peeta says.

"Oh." I say.

"Where's Trace?" Peeta asks.

"Shes getting ready." I say.

After I finished my breakfast Peeta and I send off Lawson and Trace to the training center.

"What do we do now?" I ask Peeta.

"I have an idea." he responds.

The roof.
