Chapter 4

“Wake up New York It’s your boy Jojo Cool on live with Chrissy on tune FM” My radio echoed through my room and I immediately woke up from my sleep.

As I yawned and stretched I felt the blazing sun on my skin and just at that moment I realised I was still in New York. I rolled my eyes and turned to look at my clock which showed 11:30, I kissed my teeth then took my phone from the side table which showed 16 pings. I sat up and started to read them but most of them were from Crystal, one said

‘make sure your up by 12 cos’ that’s when were going I’m gonna’ come knock you at 12:15 so be ready x. “Oh...my...days I completely forgot about that” I said to myself as I pulled back my covers and put on my fluffy blue slippers then stood up and ran to the bathroom, while I was in there I took a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I looked a mess, I got my wash cloth and rubbed the crust from my eyes then turned on the shower.

When I came out the shower I ran in my room shut the door and turned up my radio, Alexis Jordan’s Good Girl was playing and this was my tune, as soon as I started to sing to it, it immediately brought back memories of when me and Jacey used to sing to it every day before school on our iPods. I was singing so loud I was surprised grandma didn’t come in and tell me to stop singing.

“I chew bubble gum and talk fast” I was still singing while searching my suitcases. I searched all of my suitcases for some clothes to wear but only found books and teddy bears until I saw a big suitcase under my bed which had a note taped to it that said all Alisa’s clothes, I pulled it out and saw all my clothes, it took me a while to pick out something to wear.

 I had to admit I was looking good, I was wearing a black and pink Adidas track suit but the bottoms were crop and had black n pink air forces on, my hair was clipped to the side which hung over my shoulders with a front fringe which was straightened, my make up was so nice not even words could explain, I had big hoop earrings on which had wish written inside them with a gold chain to match my earrings that said my name, everything matched my chocolate completion.

I took a glance at the clock which read 12:40, I knew Crystal was going to be mad because I was late so I decided to ring her. “Hello, Alisa I’m so sorry I’m late I’m on my way now” Crystal said

“Nah its cool Crystal I’m just gonna’ wait” I said feeling relived.

“Okay I’ma’ be there in a bit”

“Oh okay bye” I said then hung up.

I put my phone in my pocket and walked out my room and into the kitchen. Grandma and Mum was in the kitchen

“Oh look who’s looking all nice, where you going hun” said Mum looking all suspicious

“Mum I asked you yesterday and you said I can go remember” (I mean she was only 31 and she can’t even remember things she told me yesterday, this was why she needed Dad in her life)

“Go where?”

“The Mall, with Crystal”

“Oh you could of just said that. Make sure you be careful and no talking to boys older than you or even older men because you look about 18 but your only 16 remember that young lady, stay with Crystal she knows her way around you don’t”

Mum said with a serious look on her face

“Mum I know all this you used to tell me this when I used to go out places with Jacey. You’re over reacting I don’t look 18” I said looking down at myself

“And close up that cardigan we’re seeing too much cleavage little girl” Mum said looking at my top, before I could respond to that comment the door bell rang. I walked up to the door and opened it

“You took your time, considering you live next door” I said slightly laughing

“Yeah I know I had to go to my grandma’s house to drop some stuff off but then she was talking for ages, but I’m here now aren’t I so c’mon lets shop till we drop girl” she said pointing to the door

“Okay okay I just have to ask for money” I said walking towards Mum with Crystal behind me.

“Mum do you have any money” I said trying to look sweet, when Crystal saw me she started laughing.

“Yeah I knew you was gonna’ ask, (she goes in her Pauls Boutique purse which was actually mine but she borrowed and never returned) Here Is 60 ponds ...I mean 60 dollars enough?”

“Yeah that’s more than enough thanks bye” I said and before Mum could say anything I was gone.
