Chapter 8: The B.R.S
It was the night before prom, and Ushina were scrambling to get everything we needed in time. As Ushina, and I walked through the mall we couldn't help but giggle at the thought of prom. "I can't believe it....tomorrow night's the prom!" I squeeled giggling. "I know!" Ushina squeeled as well. "So....do you think you and Kevin will finally...you know...." Ushina asked smiling. "I don't know.....we've talked about it a few times in the past month, but we both agreed to wait until we were both ready...." I said as I bit my lip. Ushina smiled. "You're nervous aren't you?" She asked smiling. I nodded. "Yes, incredibly nervous....." I said putting pressure on my lip. "Don't worry Jade, just think about how much fun tonight will be. That will get your mind off of things" she said smiling. I nodded, and smiled a little.
Later on that evening I was in my room waiting for Kevin to come get me. I was so nervous. This was prom. It was really here. "Jade! Sweetheart! Kevin's here" my mama called from downstairs. I took a deep breath, and looked out my window at the beautiful stars glowing in the sky. This night, was going to be a nigh I would remember forever.
"You look beautiful" Kevin said quietly as we were driving to prom. I blushed. "T-thank you..." I said smiling. I looked over at him. "You look really handsome" I said smiling. He looked over at me, and smiled. "So....do you think your mother will mind if you, and I rent a hotel room tonight?" He asked smiling. I giggled. "Kevin you know my mama...she is not going to like me spending the night in a hotel room with a boy" I said smiling. A sad look crossed his face. "Oh......." he said quietly. "But...she will let me stay over Ushina's house" I said smiling. He smiled. "Good...I made reservations at a nice little motel" he said smiling. I smiled. "That sounds perfect Kevin I couldn't think of a better way to spend my evening then with my wonderful handsome boyfriend" I said smiling as I rested my head on his shoulder. This night was going to be perfect...I just knew it.
"It's about time you two made it!" Ushina exclaimed smiling. "Traffic was bad" Kevin said as he ran his fingers through his hair. "So lets get in there!" She exclaimed smiling. Kevin chuckled, and shook his head. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach going wild as Kevin, and I walked into the building. I looked around in amazement. "Oh my.......this is....this is amazing...."I whispered as I looked around in awe. The decorations were absolutely amazing. There were different colored lights dancing off the walls creating the many illusions of night. There were stars dancing upon the ceiling, and there was a beautiful bright moon-another creation of the illusory lights. "It's beautiful" Ushina said looking around. I saw Zoom whispering something into Ushina's ear. I knew he had to of said one of the many poetic sweet things he always said to her by the way her face turned as red as a tomato. As we were walking out onto the dance floor I nudged Ushina. "So what did Mr. Romance whisper into your ear" I said giggling. She giggled. "He just keeps reminding me of the plans for tonight" she said blushing. I giggled. "Oooo sounds like you two are gonna have some fun!" I said giggling. "Shut up!" She said giggling too. "So what about you, and Kevin...what are your plans for tonight?" She asked smiling. "Well, after the prom we're going to go ti a nice little motel, and spend the rest of the evening together." I said probably smiling like a idiot. "He's such a good guy...I'm glad you two are together" she said smiling. "So am I Ushina...so am I" I said smiling.
Kevin, and I were dancing together to one of my favorite songs: "You Don't Know You're Beautiful" by One Direction. He twirled me slowly around in a circle. "You light up the world like nobody else...the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed....right now...I look in your eyes, it ain't hard to tell....you don't know....you don't know your beautiful....that's what makes you beautiful" Kevin sang into my ear. I smiled, and I ran my fingers through his short, shaggy, midnight black hair. "You are so beautiful....my heart aches at the site of your beauty Dragoste...." he whispered as he stared down at me. I looked at the ground. "N-no I'm not....." I said in a quiet tone of voice. He touched my face gently with the backs of his fingers. "Baby.......yes you are......you're gorgeous......." he whispered as he stared into my eyes. "Really........"I whispered. My self esteem was very low. Since I was constantly bullied I didn't believe I was pretty. Eric told me all the time how beautiful I was, but I could never believe it. Kevin's eyes slowly started changing Color. They went from the beautiful gem of blue to a very beautiful velvet red. "Yes, you....you are the most beautiful girl on this planet. No beauty queen, or cheerleaders, or even the most beautiful vampire could compare to your beauty......your perfect just the way you are" he whispered gently. A small smile tugged at the corner of my mouth. "......thank you......thank you for....for loving me, and being there for me......I love you so much" I whispered as a tear fell from my eye. "I love you too" he whispered as he wiped my slowly falling tears away. This moment was the moment of truth. Yes. Tonight was the night. The night we became one. I knew that now. I knew that as soon as those words left his mouth that I was ready. I reached up on my tip toes until my face was just inches from his. Even in my six inch heels he was still too tall for me. As I stared into those velvety red eyes I slowly brought my lips to his. "I love you" I whispered. "Te iubesc prea darling" he whispered as he held me close.
