Chapter 13: Threats
It was a cool December morning, and I was making breakfast for my family. The kids were still sleeping which was perfectly fine for that morning. Especially since I had a major migrane coming on. Did vampires even get migranes? I guess they did, considering I was on the verge of one. As I was flipping eggs onto a plate I felt strong arms wrap around me. "There's my girl..." he whispered into my ear. I smiled gently, and I layed my head against his chest. I sighed quietly as I continued flipping eggs. "Baby....what's wrong...." he asked quietly. I sighed again. I didn't want to tell him that I was missing Eric. Today would've been his 23rd birthday. Every year since his death I thought of my ex fiance. I just couldn't forget him. He was my first love. "Nothing sweetheart....I just have a migrane." I whispered quietly. It wasn't a lie. I did have a migrane. I just couldn't tell him where it came from. Kevin rested his chin on my shoulder, and he tightened his grip around me. "Honey....is it alright if my parents baby sit the kids today....I want us to spend the day together..." he said tracing circles into my stomach with his thumb. I sighed. " I don't know Kevin...I'm not feeling up to it...." I said quietly. Kevin's hand slowly slid up my body till his hands rested on my head. "What are you doing?" I asked my eyes wandering up to his hands. "You'll see..." he whispered as he closed his eyes. Just then I felt the migrane slowly being drawn from my head. A small smile tugged at my lips. "Thank you..." I whispered as I opened my eyes. I felt his hands leave my head and return to my waist. "Anytime Dragul....now about later on..." he whispered as he left tiny butterfly kisses on my neck. "Kevin...." I said quietly. He looked at me. "Did I do something to get you mad at me?" He whispered worridly. Oh no. I didn't want him thinking I was mad. I shut the stove off and put the last egg on the plate. I turned around in his arms and I held his face in my hands. "No no no no....no....it's just...." I sighed "....it's just....today Eric would've been 23 and .....after all this time it's still so hard to forget.....he was my first love.....and the way I lost him....I don't know....a tragedy like that....I don't know....it's just hard to forget...." I whispered quietly. I heard Kevin sigh. "Jade.....he's gone...he would want you to move on love...."Kevin whispered gently. I sighed. "I know Hon...." I whispered touching my forehead gently to his lips. He held me close. "Jade....we're spending the day together....believe me....you won't regret it....you'll be happy by the end of the day...." he said kissing my forehead gently. I smiled a little and nodded. "Oh alright.....I guess I don't have a choice huh?" I asked smiling. "Nope." He said smiling big.
Later on that night Kevin and I were walking down a dirt path to his so called "surprise". As we were walking I could see a light ahead of me. As we got closer I saw it was a path lit by candles. "Oh my..." I whispered in shock. He smiled, and chuckled. "It gets better" he said smiling as he led me further down the path. As we were walking I noticed it led to a beautiful lake surrounded by candle light. "Oh my..." I whispered completely in awe. He smiled and pulled me close. "Kevin this is amazing....what's with all this" I whispered as I looked around. When my eyes found Kevin I saw he was on one knee infringe of me with a little black box in his hand. Oh God. It was happening. This was really happening. He was going to propose after 6 long years of dating. I could feel the tears brimming over as he opened the little velvety black box. "Jade Elisabeth Leone......I know that we've had our ups and downs....but...these past six years have been the best years of my life.....when you agreed six years ago to be my girl I was so happy.....so...so happy.....you blessed me with three beautiful children.....Jade......Dragul.....would you do me the honor of becoming my wife...." he said lovingly. Tears fell from my eyes and I nodded. "Yes......yes.....yes Kevin yes....." I cried as I hugged him. He stuck the ring on my finger and he kissed me. I blushed bright red and I kissed him back. I was so happy. So, so happy. He layed down in the soft grass with me, and he stroked my face. "Thank you...." he whispered ever so gently. "For what?" I asked as I stared into his beautiful sky blue eyes. "For just....everything.....saying yes.....for my children.....for the love you show me everyday even when I don't deserve it....." he whispered. I pressed him down so he was laying flat in the grass, and I kissed him. "Stop it....you do deserve it.....babe...you deserve so much more......I know.....I know we might fight but......you deserve everything we have.....everything and so much more.....Hon....you own my heart...." I whispered as I placed his hand on my chest. "You own my heart.....my heart is yours.....I'm yours......remember forever and ever......" I whispered as I leaned my head down and I kissed him. I felt his hand brush up against my face as he kissed me back. I felt his fangs nick my lip but I didn't care. I kissed his neck gently, and then I did something I had never done before. I bit into my fiance's neck. I heard him gasp, and he held me close. I felt his blood wash over my fangs and fill my mouth. I heard him let out a small moan as I pulled my fangs from his neck. I stared into his eyes. "Oh God....I'm sorry" I whispered. A small smiled tugged at his lips and he licked the remaining blood off of my chin, and lips. "It's alright love.....it felt nice...." he whispered into my ear. I smiled big, and I stood up. He pouted and held his hand out to me. I smiled. "Race you to the lake!" I laughed as I ran towards the lake. "Hey! You cheated!" He laughed as he ran after me. "First one in's a rotten egg!" I laughed as I ran to the edge of the dock. I took all but my underclothes off and I jumped into the cool water. When I came up I smoothed my hair back and I smiled. I looked around but didn't see Kevin anywhere. "Kevin?" I called out. No answer. "Kevin?" I called again my voice wavering a bit. "Boo!" Came his voice from behind me. I jumped and manuvered myself around in the water to see my fiance laughing. "That was not funny! You scared me!" I yelled as I smacked his chest. He pulled me to him. "I'm sorry dear I was only playing around" he said smiling. I pouted. He chuckled and he kissed me deeply. I loved when he kissed me like that. It made me feel just so happy. So calm. I felt his hands move up my body and I felt him start unclasping my bra. He removed it, and threw it up on the dock. "Kevin....what if someone sees us..." I whispered as he was kissing my neck. "No one will see us love....don't worry.....tonight's a night of celebration...." he whispered as he kissed my chest. I leaned my head back and I smiled. I ran my hands down his chest until they rested on his abs. I wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, and I kissed him deeply. I felt myself slowly being lifted out of the water. Before I knew it I was being layed in the soft grass. I smiled up at my fiance and I ran my fingers along his jaw line. I watched as his eyes slowly turned a deep velvety red. I kissed his chest gently, and I blushed and tangled my fingers in his long midnight black hair. "I love you......" I whispered. "Forever and ever baby...." he whispered his voice raw with passion. Our lips met and danced to our love song.
