at least school isn't complete hell.

i have to keep repeating that phrase in my head to even wake myself up in the morning. bullies and classes are overwhelming.

i pushed through the crowds of people and elbowed some when i had to. i looked down until someone stepped on my toe.

i looked up and my eyes widened. it was wyatt. "sorry!" he said, stepping off my toe. "did i hurt you?"

"n-no, it's okay." i looked up, my face flushing a dark red. he smiled to me, flashing his pearly white smile.

"and it's jaelen?" he asked, unsure of my name. he did an awkward smile through grit teeth.

"actually it's jaeden, but you were close." i laughed, rubbing the back of my neck. my face was red, i could feel it.

"see you around, jaeden." he did a little salute with his two fingers and walked off. he wore a red sweatshirt and looked cuter than ever.

i continued walking down the hall, on my way to sixth period math. i looked down, because looking up usually led me to trouble.

i felt a light tap on my shoulder and turned around quickly. i really hoped it wasn't—

and there she was. millie bobby brown. the notorious popular girl of the whole school, who also happened to be a bully.

"oh hey, fag. you taking a liking to wyatt?" she asked, in her 'wannabe innocent toddler voice.'

"shut up, millie," i said, placing my hand on my hip. "we all know you're probably hooking up with sadie sink on the side from finn."

she gasped, squinting her eyes to show that she didn't want to play any games. she shook her head, clenching her fists.

"it's one thing when i say it, but we don't need rumors spreading that i'm a little fag like you, lieberbitch." she said, walking back from the direction she came from.

i shrugged, and continued on my journey to ms. dyer's math class right down the hall.

maybe millie's right, maybe i am super gay and am taking a liking to wyatt.

but that doesn't mean i'm any less of importance.
