Can't Stop the Feeling  by SaFireSammi

Liddan x Marigold

Somewhere deep in a dark, mysterious forest, where no man dared to venture within, is said to harbor a cursed token that bestows misfortune upon the foolish victims that simply followed their hearts' curiosities, but only to be met with a tragic demise.

This legend was believed to be true to any human ears that absorbed its tale.

But was the same to be said for CATS, was the million-dollar question.

And an adventurous trio sought out to learn the truth...whom we stumble across now.

Ggggrrrroooowwwwllll.....

"Lugi!/Malcon!"

"What?! I can't help it if I'm starving to death here!" the accused Exceed protested. "Not to mention that legend was a total knock-off!" he continued complaining.

Liddan sighed deeply in exasperation. "No kidding," he groaned while reaching into his coat and pulling out a necklace that was dangling off his neck. It held a small totem piece in the shape of a seed. He looked at in intently with a frown. "How did something like this become such a fearful cursed object?" he asked no one in particular in disappointment.

"Lugi!"

Liddan averted his attention to the small cat sauntering beside him down the rocky pavement of the nature trail. He smiled at her. "It is kinda pretty, I guess..." Liddan agreed. He tucked it back into the front of his coat. "I'll give it to Mom when we get back."

Malcon sighed. "Why didn't we bring Felicity and Zailo again?"

"Lugi!" Lugi exclaimed. "Lugi lugi lu!"

Liddan raised an eyebrow. "Ya think so?"

Malcon looked at his fellow feline friend in confusion. "You serious? You think they have a thing for each other and wanted to give 'em some privacy?" he interpreted with incredulity.

"Lugi! Lugi gi Lugi lu gi LUGI!" was his reply.

Liddan and Malcon doubled over in horror. "LUGI! WHERE DID YOU LEARN ABOUT THAT?!" Liddan questioned in shock. "AND WHAT MAKES YOU THINK FELICITY AND ZAILO HAVE THAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP??!!"

Malcon cried mock tears. "Lugi....you used to be so innocent..."

Liddan kneeled in front of the cat with anger in his eyes. "Who taught you about that? Tell me..." he seethed.

"Lugi!" was Lugi's answer.

Liddan's eyes widened. "Layla?!"

"Lugi lugi lu gi gi Lugi Lugi."

"Hold up! You read one of her fanfictions?! Why would you do that?!" Liddan cried.

Lugi continued with her one-word dialogue, gesturing with her words and all the while increasing Liddan and Malcon's surprise.

"Layla writes fanfiction about Liddan? With who?" Malcon asked, amused slightly.

"Lugi...." the cat replied, shrugging. "Lugi Lugi."

Liddan rose up with a blush on his cheeks. "She is so gonna get it next time I see her," Liddan grumbled. "Who even is Marigold? An OC of hers?"

"FOOOOOOD!!!!"

The townspeople watched in annoyance, or even bewilderment, as a man with a metallic arm and two cats raced across the streets and towards a small restaurant at the end of a block.
