I wake in a daze, trying to remember what happened before I passes out.
My stomach is growling so much it sounds like a rabid dog. My eye hurts as if I truly got hit by the rock. So does my body and head.I sit up not too quickly. God help me if my head gets any more dizzy. I look around and see that I'm not in my usual room. This room is packed with foam walls and a cushy bed on the floor.
Oh God. They locked me in a hole.
I stand up looking for a doorway quickly.
I'm in a hole. There's no door!
I start banging on the walls. It's starting to feel a little claustrophobic in here.
They put me in a hole and threw away the hole!
There's no way out.
No where to run.
Looking around I see nothing. Just the blank white around me.
"Take deep breaths." I hear an echo in my ear.
Samuel!
Where are you? Where am I? Why did you leave me?"Miss, can you please calm down. Doctor Mathers will be in shortly." I hear a voice come out of a box in the corner. The ceiling so too far up but you can't even tell where the wall ends and ceiling starts.
A short time later o start hearing keys rattling and a familiar male voice.
"Hey there you are!" Mathers cheery voice floods the walls of my empty room.
I hold my arms across my stomach and give him a questioning look.
"Oh dear, I'm sorry about the room. After you dazed off you had quite a shocking episode, we couldn't risk you putting yourself into any harm."
Still questioning.
"You had started making a wailing scream and hitting yourself. When I tried to call you down you got physical with me."
I lift my hand to my eye to find it slightly swollen. Had that dream been just that? A dream? Was I causing myself harm? Am I really just as crazy as the rest of these people?
As I'm questioning my sanity Mathers is talking. I drown him out. At this point anything he says makes me want to faint into oblivion.
"Please stop." I say as if out if habit.
He stops taking and looks at me shockingly.
"I-I'm sorry. I can't, I just can't hear whay you say right now." I say rubbing my temples.
"Can you tell me anything about yourself?" He asks after a few moments.
"I don't know. I can hardly tell what's real versus what's not."
"Let's talk in my office later today?" He asks ushering me out of the room.
Gladly I glide out."Can I please just take a walk by myself?" I ask.
"Well after the other day I'm afraid we wouldn't want you running off again. It's nearly below zero outside. I'll have Lilly come walk with you." He says.
He grabs a walkie talkie out of his back pocket and rings Lilly.I wondered if Lilly didn't tell him that she had escorted me outside. That she was my accomplice and my instigator.
A short while later a blonde headed girl Walt's in and I realize it's Lilly.
"Lilly, take this young lady for a walk. Let her get some air but not too far and no outside. You can go along the closed off patio." Mathers says pointing his index finger at her.
