I joined my new friends for lunch outside. They discussed many things, including the scenario that happened earlier involving the boy that I clashed with. I found out his name, Sam Collins. Still, nobody could get over it. Apparently, he has rubbed shoulders with the law on a few occasions, some people say that he is dangerous.

'Georgie has invited us over to her house tomorrow night to get ready for the dance, isn't that nice?' I

was made to feel so welcome, it felt so good to be interacting with other people for a change other than my family.

'Oo..that sounds great!' The other girls chimed.

Lunch was almost over and everyone began to get their bags ready for the last lesson. Three boys walked over. Phoebe glared at them and the other girls looked really uncomfortable.

'What do you want James? This isn't the right time if you're asking for another chance, you blew that a thousand times over.'   Her glow was a fierce red, she didn't like this boy, or not much anyway.

'I wasn't here because of you.' He laughed. 'I was here because I heard a vicious rumor about the mysterious new girl that broke the devil and I would like to see her in the flesh .' He smirked.

His eyes scanned the group of girls before landing on me. He wasn't attractive, maybe it was his cockiness that made him attractive but either way, he made me squirm.

'Not his usual type of girl but I guess he doesn't really have a type does he.'

'Piss off James, no one wants you here.' Megan spoke.

'Ah, but they do.' He winked and walked off.

Phoebe had stopped talking, she looked frightened of something. Her gaze was somewhere else. I couldn't work out what she was thinking. There was something odd about Phoebe, I couldn't see her glow anymore. It had vanished. I tapped her on the shoulders and she turned back towards the group. She got up.

'I'm sorry, but I have to go. Look after Georgie will you.' I went to say something to her but when I looked, she had vanished.

'What was up with James and Phoebe?' I queried, curious about what could make this hot tempered girl so quiet.

The girls looked shady.

'James cheated on her five times, it broke her heart. That wasn't the worst of it. They went on holiday together with her family and he cheated on her with her sister. It was really messed up. She was never the same after that. She started becoming nasty to people around her and causing trouble wherever she went. People were scared of her.'

I looked shocked. Poor girl.

Bad experiences can ruin good hearts.

'I don't know what to say.' I replied.

'Don't worry, no one does. Just comfort her, she's never opened up to any of us. You'll never know what she's thinking. Such a closed book.'

I could understand that. I was quite like Phoebe in some ways. I felt drawn to her, like I needed to help her.
