Jack

"Guess what!?" Jack skips about Rossi's mansion making his little shoe's light up.

"What?" Rossi traps him and picks Jack up.

Jack wiggles and giggles in Rossi's arms," I'm seeing daddy today!"

Rossi pauses for a second but jumps right back into happy uncle Dave mode," are you really?"

Jack nods," yep! Em is gonna be there to! And guess what else!"

Rossi puts Jack back on the ground," what?"

Jack hops around, momentarily distracted by his shoes," we're gonna do it on a video! Daddy's gonna have one video and I'm gonna have the other!"

Rossi guides him to the kitchen," that's amazing! When are you doing this?"

Jack thinks while Rossi works on heating up water for Mac N' Cheese. "I don't know. Emmy is gonna tell me."

Rossi nods, interesting since she still hadn't made up her mind when he left the hospital last night. "Well I guess you've got something cool to look forward to."

Jack nods, he'd spent several hours now thinking about all the things he can tell his dad. He drew a few pictures. Read a book. Tried to read Harry Potter, he knew most of the words but it proved to be a bit to difficult all by himself. He played cars but it wasn't nearly as fun without his father there to make the noises.

"Do you think..." Jack scrunches his eyebrows together," do you think that I can go see daddy soon?"

Rossi mixes the cheese slowly, making sure it's melting right," I think that as soon as the doctor's say so you'll be in there with your daddy in no time."

"I hope so."

Emily

"Mom."

She'd been sulking just outside of the wing door.

"Emily," her mother greets with a smile that Emily recognizes as her political smile, in other words fake.

"What are you doing here?" Her hand rest over her stomach,  habit she developed during her pregnancy. A protective stance.

Elizabeth Prentiss shakes her head," you don't think I care that my only child was in a car accident that forced her to deliver her baby early?"

Emily steps back as her mother steps forward," you're not here because Frank said that the newspapers would rip you open if they got wind that you hadn't been by?"

Elizabeth frowns, Emily was always very good with the hitting her opposer right where she wanted with her words alone," Emily I came because I was worried."

Emily looks down at the tile beneath her feet. Her mother is here for help so.."I'm in a corner at the moment."

The mother daughter duo hadn't done well in years. Emily was always closer with her father but when he died, suddenly, when she was only eleven it left only Emily and Elizabeth. They were on a constant roller coaster when together.
