The old man sat the two you adults down at the table within his home. His home appeared to be rather simple He had a lounging area that was divided from the kitchen by only a half wall that did not connect to any exterior walls. A Dining area was attached to that, this is where the table was, and finally,  there was a hallway that leads  back to what was most likely a bedroom and a bathroom  "So." Fate started "How long has this been going for Day?"

Day scratched his head in a nervous fashion."Uh... T-two weeks..."

Trya and Fate both looked at him in shock "TWO WEEKS?!" Trya shouted "Day! My father is the head of the Knights of light, he could have stopped this!"

Fate shook his head "Trya, Dante is a resourceful man, but he has little power when it comes to overseers."

Day looked up at them "But the overseers are forbidden to carry out actions around here right?! can't the local knights step in?"

Fate nodded "but the fact that they haven't placed you or Lyra under house arrest yet, or taken either of you into custody, means they haven't actually "acted" on you. Therefore the local knights can't interfere."

 "Cowards.." Trya replied

Fate chuckled "Thankfully as guardian of this realm, I answer to no one. You two run along, I will stop by Lyra'shome later and will we discuss it."

Day raised an eyebrow "But I thought that's why you brought us here to talk about it?"

"Yes." Fate replied "Because in public who knows who heard me. The overseers will now watch you closely thinking I set up some elaborate plan for you two to carry out."

Trya shook her head "So we were just distractions?"

Fate nodded "Exactly,  now if two do not mind, I would like it if you left."

The two looked at each other before standing up. Day turned to his mentor "Thanks, Master Fate. Hopefully one day I can fix my own problems."

Fate chuckled "While it is good to fix your own problems. Whenever someone offers to help you; it would be wise to let them help."

"I'll keep that in mind." Day stated as he walked to the door with Trya.

The two stepped outside into the hustle and bustle of the city around them. Fate lived just on the outskirts of the residential district. On one side of the road, on the other side was the beginning of the Blacksmith district.  "So...what now?" Day replied

"Well, I guess we could head home." Trya replied.

"Hello there!" shouted a friendly voice. It belonged to the dark skinned you man in his early 20s. He looked onward at the two with his amber eyes as he waved, all the while dawning an inviting smile. His head was shaved not a single strand of hair  "Master Fate taught a wonderful class today didn't he?"

"Yeah, sure thing...uh...what was your name again?"  Day replied looking at the man

"To'Dak!" the man replied, "I was selected for the guardian program and got roped into the same group as you two. You both live here don't you, as in you hail from this realm? It must be amazing living in such a city as this."

"It's alright I guess." Trya replied "So what's like in the realm of sands. What kind of cities do you have?"

"Funny you should ask, the cities in my realm are only broken reflections of a way of life forgotten, we mostly live in large camps, but enough of our homes. I was just heading into the blacksmist district to obtain a weapon, I am sure the two of you have your own business to take care of, so I will leave. Until we see each other again in a meeting!" And with that, the peculair man walked off.

Day watched him walk off "People from the realm of sands creep me out." He said casually

"Day!" Trya said before promptly whacking him in the back of the head

"What?! They all look the same and are way too nice."

She simply stared at him in disbelief

"There are at least three of them in our group! I dare you to figure out which one is To'Dak tomorrow!"

She stood there for a moment and sighed "Yeah you're right they all look the same...still doesn't make what you said any better, you know at least they are nice. Most people that were picked for the program are stuck ups." She started walking hoping Day would follow, he of course did.

As Day followed he rubbed the back of his head "Could you have whacked me any harder?"

"Are you dead?"

"No..?"

"Then stop complaining. C'mon lets get something to eat."

And just like that, the memory faded as Day's grim present slowly took the bright past's place.  He looked up at the two figures standing over him "Any last words?" the figure in black armor asked before raising up his blade.  Day took a deep breath before glancing down at the hilt of his weapon "Last words? Why are they my last?" He asked with a grin and suddenly like a bolt of light he was gone or at least gone from that spot, he reappeared in an instant just a few paces back from where he was resting "You can't really pin someone down when they can move at the speed of light."

The figure in black armor started to form a glare, but his eyes instead filled with shock. His enemy was gone again, assuming the worst the man raised his blade in hopes Day would attack from the front. The sound of metal hitting metal as Day's blade appeared, pressing against the large blade of his enemy.  the woman started to tackle him, But Day once again made use of his speed, he quickly dashed to the side of the man, and threw him into the attacking woman  with a smirk "Still have to pay you back for slicing my eye open don't I?!" It was so strange. just moments ago Day felt his body had reached its end, but the memories of his friend... It was enough to jolt some life back into him.

As the armored man fell onto the woman they both collapsed to the ground. the man quickly stood his feet and growled "Stop...TELEPORTING!"

Day laughed "Teleporting is for people with no skill, I'm moving at light speed."

the man in armor growled once more "I don't care what is you are doing I command you to stop!" He said before charging at Day.

Day began charging back as both of their armor sets made various clanging noises as armor plates hit armor plates. The two started to swing at each other, but just before the blades met...a third party appeared from nowhere

He was an odd fellow with hair as gray as an old man but a face as young as a twenty-year-old. One eye was fade gray but the other was bionic and sported a dim blue glow. He had a rather unamused expression on his face for a total of one second before he realized two blades were lined up to lop off his head. He quickly leaned back the blades just barely missing the tip of his nose. He leaned back so quickly the sudden shift in weight caused him to fall back onto his ass. He took a deep breath as he quickly gripped his chest "HOLY SHIT MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES! Never. make me. see that. again." he replied

The two fighters just stood there...frozen This man had come out of nowhere and completely interrupted the flow of things.

The man simply moved his head back and forth as he looked at the two of them "Did I interrupt something?" He looked at the figure in black armor once more "Oh hey! You're that asshole!" without warning. Th man quickly drew a pair of revolving pistols and proceeded to open fire on the armor clad man in black.

The bullets didn't do much other than cause a few dents, they were more of an annoyance. Each bullet caused him to step back with each shot before finally growled "Enough! you live to see another day, Guardian." He snapped his fingers "We're leaving!"

Day ran at the armor clad man as the woman rushed to his side. The black armored male placed a hand on her shoulder before teleporting away just at Day started to tackle them. Instead, he simply fell to the ground.

The man who had popped out of nowhere simply watched as he pulled a flask from his jacket "God why did they pick you." He said before turning up his flask
