Zelltrax and Day stood in an open field just outside the city walls, the shadow of the sleeping sentry of stone loomed over them granting them shade on this sunny day. "So!" Zeltrax stated "Rules are simple, We have to disarm one another four times, first to get disarmed four times, loses. "
"Wait four times?" Day asked curiously "But you have five weapons."
"The bow doesn't count as chances are I will not be using it."
"And that fancy hammer of yours?"
Zeltrax paused for a moment, wrapping his fingers around his jaw "I will use it in the event of a draw. Are you ready?"
Day nodded getting into his fighting stance of choice, a shoulder width stance with a bent front leg, and straightened back leg. both hand clenching his blade in front of him as he no shield to worry about.
Zelltrax nodded in response "Then let us begin!" He said before drawing his lance first, but he did not advance. With lance in hand, there was no need to, he could disarm Day with the lance and not have to worry about Day getting in attacking range.
Day sighed shaking his head "so that's how it's going to be? Well alright then." With this said, the guardian charged head first like a freight train, he now lacked the speed his sacred blade blessed him with, but even without the guardian was still rather fast.
As the two drew close to one another, Zelltrax held the lance flat so Day would have to deal with both its width and length. As Day raised his blade he heard the loud noise of metal strike metal, then the sound of his sword hitting the ground. With a sweeping slash, the blacksmith had won the first point. Zelltrax chuckled but kept his guard up "Well?" He asked, "aren't you going to pick it up?" A grin painted his face as he smirked: "or are you giving up already?"
Day walked over to the cold blade and lifted it from the ground "You'd like that wouldn't you?" Day attempted to get back in stance, but before he could manage he felt a blunt pain in his right shin as Zelltrax swept his legs. The bold laughter of the blacksmith could be heard as Day's face collided with the ground...however. Zelltrax attempts to make him drop the sword failed, as Day still his finger tightly wrapped around its leather grip
Zelltrax's left eyebrow raised slightly seeing the guardian's weapon still being held "Impressive, most people would have dropped it." He reached his hand down to Day.
Day rolled over and looked up at Zelltrax before Sharply sweeping his legs. On Zelltrax's way down Day sharply swung at the shaft of the lance. Upon hearing it strike, Zelltrax hit the ground and his weapon fell next to him. Day would then stand up and dust himself off "See what fighting dirty gets you?"
Zelltrax chuckled as he stood up from his knees "Yes well, I guess I deserved that one." he said before reaching behind him to draw the longsword. Zelltrax still had the advantage of reach, but now greatly reduced. The two clanged their blades against one another before bringing their weapons back to their chests. This was a signal to the other that they were ready for round three.
with perfect synchronization, the two fighters swung at each other locking blades. They shared smirks with each other as they swung again, and again. Each time they only succeeded in locking blades once more, as metal struck metal, orange sparks flew out in every direction before quickly losing their glow and vanishing from sight. The clashing of blades went on for six more swings, before finally, Day stopped the stalemate by backstepping with a leap.
As Day retreated, Zelltraxed advanced. To his dismay, Zelltrax could only watch as Day sidestepped his attack, hooked the hand guard of Zelltrax's weapon with his own before swiftly delivering a kick into the blacksmith's stomach. With his handguard trapped and sudden push of the kick, the longsword flew from the blacksmith's hand. With a ringing noise, the longsword clanged against the ground.
