Stay Strong

One shot #1 ~ The Mall

This short little one shot here is dedicated to one of my biggest supporters on both Stay Strong and Shadows May Fall. Dedicated to AEWDragon thank you for reading and supporting me through this whole writing process, it means the world to me.
And one with the one shot!

"Come on you weirdo!"

I roll my eyes and try to catch up to the red head walking ahead of me. "Hold on Carly! I'm not that fast anymore!" She walks past three different stores in the time it takes me to walk past one. "I told you I didnt want to come to the mall!"

My curly red head stops and turns around with a smile. "The doctor said we have to get you out and about and this is the perfect opportunity!"

I sigh and walk a little faster to catch up to Carly, there's a sharp pain in my abdomen as I pull on a stitch a little too hard. I groan and playfully glare at Carly. She then sees the visible flinch on my face that often comes when I pull a little too hard on one of my stitches and rushes over to me.

Her blue eyes show visible worry as we get some weird looks from people walking on either side of us. "You okay?"

I groan, "Yeah, just tried to push myself a little too fast. Stitches still aren't feeling awesome."

After being released from the hospital two months ago I tore some of my stitches three weeks ago out from my major bullet wound and a couple of the less major laceration stitches when I tried to run to catch up to the kitten that I was given by my parents and Valentine after I got back from the hospital.

So in other words my stitches still weren't healed and they were a royal pain in the ass. If I tried to flip over in my sleep, stitches are like no, you can't do that. So I lay face up and its not how I like to sleep but eh.

Carly sits me down on a nearby bench and checks the stitches under my light grey long sleeved shirt. My five week stitches are mostly healed and pink scar tissue is starting to be more prominent over the stitches.

"I'm fine Carly." I say exasperated.

Carly looks at me sternly, "We didn't know that until we checked and now we can keep going! We're almost to the store we need to get to!"

I inwardly groan to not set off Carly on how much I really don't want to be here, "Why do we have to get something for Bean and Petra now? Petra isn't having the baby for another like...four months!"

All I get from Carly is a dramatic sigh as she pulls me up from the bench that had just become my new best friend, "I told Valentine I'd introduce you to the mall so I intend to do that and I intend to do it today." I groan again. "Maybe if you're good Drew, I'll get you a pretzel or something at the food court."

Once again I inwardly grown because I've developed a newfound love for pretzel's since I was released from the hospital. "Ugh, I already hate it here, too many people."

The curly red head shrugs, "You'll live, now were off to find baby clothes for baby Beantra!"

"Seriously?"

A chuckle escapes Carly's lips, "Yup, I'm super exciter to go to Greece for the baby shower!"

I couldn't help but feel nostalgic about going back to Greece, every day closer Petra was to having the baby was another day closer to the day she would lose Bean which I knew would destroy her.

Minutes later Carly and I found ourselves at a rack of little baby onesies trying to pick out a couple before we went to the next store. Ironically Carly found a onesie that had 'Daddy's little bean' printed on the front. I got enough of a crack out of that onesie that we got that one in a soft yellow orange.

Just to please Carly I picked out a blue one that had a teddy bear on it and another that was kind of like a teddy bear suit which I thought was funny.

"Hey Drew, did Petra tell you the gender of the baby?" Carly asks from a couple feet away on the other side of the rack I'm on.

I look up with a grin, "Yeah, I'm proud to announce in approximately four months I'll get to be a proud.......

Guess what, I'm not telling yet!!! You'll have to wait at least two or three chapters of Shadows May Fall for the reveal!!! Sorry but its coming Soon! I might reveal it before in one shot form if I get the time after the two other one shots I have planned out written and published.
