Sometimes I get that feeling the whole world is against me. Its been happening often lately.
Sometimes meaning always. Always means today in particular.
So there I was sitting in my small room at home after coming home from Carly's house, thinking about her. Then my mother just walks in, tells me I'm re-enrolled in school.
At first I was ecstatic, I'm going back to battle school, the only place I've ever known. But no, my mother told me, "Ender, No you need to make some new friends, socialize with normal people your age. Make some friend's
Which I responded to with, 'I have friends mother.'
She frowned, I lost the argument and now I'm sitting in mother's car as she drives me to the dreaded place known as High School.
We arrive at the building of horrors and mother forces me out of the car with a bag I got from battle school with the International Fleet logo on it.
I step out of the vehicle and survey my surroundings, No one would recognize me from when I was six, that was eleven years ago.
The school seems to be made of a red brick, a set of large glass doors frame the entrance. Students bustle around the campus, I recognize none.
Once again, alone in a sea of people I do not know. There is truely no reason for me to go to this dreaded high school since all of my schooling was completed in battle school, along with many college courses.
I walk across the smooth pavement and into the front doors of the school. To the left there is a small plaque that has the word 'office' inscribed in it.
The door knob turns freely and I walk into the office. I walk over to the secretary's desk and she lifts her head.
"Um, Hi." I manage to stutter.
She smiles, "You must be Andrew, the new student. Your mother sent over your transcript yesterday." She taps a few times on her computer. "It seems you have nearly all the necessary courses for high school, college and grad school."
I shrug my shoulders, "Already taught everything up at battle school."
The Secretary whips her head up, narrowing her eyes at me. "What did you just say?"
"I went to battle school and already learned everything?"
The Secretary looks me up and down for a moment before continuing, "Trigonometry?"
"Taken it."
"Chemistry?"
"Done."
"Physics? Calculus?"
"Done, and done."
"Spanish? French?"
I sigh, "Completed and fluent."
"Is there anything you haven't taken?"
I shrug my shoulders, "I dunno."
"Any art classes? Music? Sports?"
"Actually, I haven't taken any of those."
The Secretary gives a triumphant look, "So it looks like all I can enroll you in is art, music and athletic classes."
I blink with confusion, "Really? No courses I could take again?"
She rolls her eyes, "I can put in two classes you've taken before, how about Advanced literature and Advanced physics?"
I grin, "Okay."
She prints out a schedule for me. It seems I'm twenty minutes late to first period of the day. The Secretary gives me a late pass and off I go to try and find what seems to be a sculpting class.
I look at the watch on my wrist, 8:30 the small clock says. So my search for room 103 begins, there are arrows on the walls. I find one that points towards rooms 100 through 150.
As a walk down the white hallways there is a small shriek followed by a mop of blonde hair attacking me. The person, presumably a girl, wraps me in a bear hug.
"Drew!"
Of course Carly goes here too, well, there goes my anonymity in this place. "Hey Carly."
She beams, "I didn't know that you went here!"
I shrug, "It was kinda a last minute thing my mom made me do."
"Well I'm glad your here, now help me let you get where your going."
I smile, "Okay, lead the way.
Sorry it took so long guys! I've been really busy and I have writers block on everything!
