The man stands on the edge,
his frail body shaking,
as his old eyes,
look down.He is tired.
He is swollen.
He is old.He has been through hell and back,
and he has tried to live. But all in all,
as the man stands there,
even though he wishes to find something,
something there.Something to tell him,
its okay.
it'll all be okay.
But instead,
her face pops up,
and his crumpled heart,
forces a tear to slide."Goodbye."
and then
time slows,
and suddenly,
it feels like years pass.It wasn't supposed to end like this.
He thought. It wasn't supposed to end like this.
He put one foot forward. It wasn't supposed to end like this.
He smiled. He always did like to fly.
And then,
he whispered his final goodbyes.
To the ones who he loved.
To his one first love.
To his brother.But then,
he whispered a hello.
Because he'd see them soon.He moves his feet an inch,
teetering. He is ready. Ready to leave, ready to end his story.
"Sir,"
the voice came
from behind him."Why are you on the ledge?"
But then a whole new damn book opened.
-
"Do you want a ham and cheese sandwich?"
The kid looked to be about ten years old,
a Pokémon backpack was slung over his shoulders,
he had red light up sneakers with a Nemo sticker on it.He shook his head.
They sat on the roof of the building,
discussing sandwiches. The man wanted to die, yes.
But he didn't want to potentially scar a child for life while dying. So he sat on the roof,
with a frown on his face,
discussing sandwiches. With a ten year old.
"How the hell did you even get up here?" The man grumbled.
The kids eyes widened, and he started searching through his bag
The man watched intently, curious. Then, the kid brought out a small jar, with the word "Curse Bank" on it.
he stuck it out to himThe man blinked,
"I'm not giving you money," he said. The kids lower lip shook, and his eyes watered.
The mans heart clenched."Okay! Okay, okay! Don't cry!" He said, and searched his pocket for a penny.
Instead, a fifty dollar bill came out.Was I just about to die with fifty dollars in my pocket?
The man frowned. He shrugged, and then gave it to the kid.
The kid grinned, and hugged him."I'm Andy!" The kid said.
The mans frowned lessened.
Andy stuck his hand out,
and gave a smile
showing a missing tooth. The man smiled his own,
and shook his hand. How long had it been,
since someone asked
his name?"My name is Roman."
-
the immense sadness I got from writing this, the feeling of ending this story.
I have been with you since the beginning of this year.
This book; this book has been with me for god knows long.
I will update one last chapter, and then my friends, its time to say goodbye.
