"Calum come on that's so unfair!" I giggle loudly as he makes my car crash in Mario Kart, he smirks "You're just mad you can never beat me." his tongue pokes out and his eyebrows furrow in concentration as he crosses the finish line "You cheated." I grumble, he just looks at me with a sweet grin "Sore loser much?" I sigh dropping my controller and getting up "I'm getting something to drink, but I want a re-match." suddenly Calum grabs my exposed leg preventing me from moving "Will you get me something too?" he pouts his bottom lip out "Fine." his face lights up "Yay!" I exit his room and make my way downstairs to his kitchen, I swing the cabinet door open and grab out 2 glasses, I close the cabinet and open the fridge getting some lemonade out. "I was wondering when I'd see you again." I hear a voice say, I turn around to be faced with Mali, Calum's older sister, I run over to her excitedly "Mali!" I say loudly throwing my arms around her, she giggles and returns the hug "How've you been?" she asks as we pull away "I've been good. I just came over to hang out with Calum." she smiles "I assumed you were, how's that going by the way?" I give her a confused look "What do you mean?" I ask, she chuckles "I mean I always knew you guys would get together. It was bound to happen you've both known each other for so long." my cheeks heat up "Oh-uh god no. Mali we're not-" her eyes widen "Oh I just thought.." I shake my head and she covers her face with her hands "Now I'm embarrassed. Sorry I said anything." I shake my head trying to hide my obvious blush "No it's ok, a lot of people assume." she uncovers her face "Well you both kind of act like a couple to be honest. Calum can't ever keep his hands to himself when you're around, never has." "We're just close. He's been my best friend since we were kids, you know that." she sighs "Trust me you were both so annoying. Glad I could get out of here." she giggles and I push her arm back jokingly "Hey you loved the attention. Remember when we dressed Calum up as a girl?" her grin grows as she starts laughing "Aw yeah I remember, he was cute wasn't he?" I nod "Yeah." "I was what?" Mali and I both jump at the sound of Calum's voice "Don't scare your sister like that, shit." she says chuckling, he just smiles "Then don't talk about me when I'm not around." he says as he slings his arm around my shoulder, Mali's eyes scan mine and I just ignore her looks and look at Calum "What are you doing here anyways?" Calum asks Mali "I'm here for mum, she wanted to go out for lunch." "I think she's upstairs want me to get her?" I offer, she shakes her head "I think Calum should." he rolls his eyes as he takes his arm away from me "A pain back then, still a pain now.." he grumbles heading up the stairs, I turn back to her "Oh my god." she says "You like Calum don't you?" I blush "I don't know what you're going on about." I say grabbing my cup and throwing some ice in it from the freezer "I saw the way you looked at him. You so have a thing for him!" I shake my head placing my cup down and putting me lemonade in it "Even if I did it's not like he'd ever go for me. It's just not like that." she rolls her eyes "You're so blind Y/N..." "What do-" I'm interrupted by Joy and Calum entering the room "I'm ready, sorry it took me a while." Mali smiles at Joy "It's fine mum. Lets go?" she nods grabbing her purse "We'll be back in about 2 hours maybe? Y/N are you staying for dinner?" Joy asks and I smile "If I can?" I ask, she giggles patting my shoulder "You're always welcome here hun." "Thanks." I say "Oh and Calum?" she looks over at Calum stuffing his face with strawberries, he gives her an innocent look "Oh for goodness sake save some for Y/N." he looks over at me and hands me a strawberry "Just make sure to take the trash out ok?" she says "Will do!" Calum muffles with food in his mouth, they exit the house before I could manage a goodbye, I turn to Calum eating the strawberry he gave me "So what now?" I ask hoisting myself onto the counter and drinking my lemonade "Didn't you want a re-match?" he smirks, I shrug "I'm kinda over it. I'll never beat you in Mario Kart I guess." he smiles "That's the spirit!" he jumps up on the counter next to me taking my lemonade out of my hand and drinking it "Hey that's mine you fucker." I grab the cup from him "I'm a growing boy Y/N. I need my nutrients." he giggles "Oh yeah? Then get your own cup of lemonade." he shrugs "Yeah, but it's more fun to bother you." he swings an arm around my shoulder, I had always been friends with Calum, well best friends, I've known him since we were in diapers pretty much. Since we lived next door to each other and went to the same school we watched each other grow up and go through our awkward phases and our 'interesting' phases, up until last year I had never thought about Calum as anything other than my best friend. Then last year Calum joined the school's soccer team immediately becoming the captain, I came over one day after he was done with practice and walked in on him shirtless. All the training had definitely helped him, already being attractive, his body was toned and extremely fit, I obviously apologized, but Calum didn't see it as a big deal considering we'd known each other for so long. Every day after that I've noticed little things, like how beautiful his eyes were, or how funny he was, especially how talented he is when it comes to singing, he's always been into music and he's very humble about his talents. Calum can play multiple instruments and he sings beautifully, ever since that day I've been falling endlessly for Calum, it sounds a little cliche, but it's true. He sighs "Wanna go in the pool?" he offers hopping off the counter and pouring some lemonade into his glass "I don't have a suit." "You wear like bras and underwear, that's like the same thing right? Just wear that." he sips on his lemonade and I blush "That's not the same thing, that's uncomfortable.." "I'll go in my underwear too if that makes it better." he gives me a cheeky wink and I just roll my eyes "You're so annoying." I say getting off the counter and going upstairs "Is that a yes?!" he calls out, I open his bathroom door "Fine!" I close it behind me and start getting undressed, I stare at myself in the mirror, my black bra with lace detailing and matching underwear feeling somehow different than a bikini "It's the same thing Y/N. You'll be fine..." I mumble to myself opening the door, I cross my arms over my chest and walk down the stairs slowly "Cal?" I get no reply, I see a towel on the counter along with my lemonade full again, I grab the towel wrapping it around myself, I grab my lemonade and open the slider door that leads outside "The water is super nice." he says smiling at me, the crinkles next to his eyes forming "I'm sure..." I say sitting down on a lawn chair, he swims closer to the edge towards me, he reaches the edge and rests his head on his hands "Coming in?" "In a minute." he chuckles "You have to eventually." I sigh "Fine, turn around." he rolls his eyes "You're no fun Y/N." he jokes swimming away from the edge and turning around, I take the towel off of me and quickly get in the water before he can turn around, he smiles at me "Finally." he says dramatically swimming over to me, I cover my stomach with my hands feeling a little uncomfortable "Why are you hiding?" he chuckles sitting on a shallow step next to me, I shrug "Like I said I'm just a little uncomfortable being this exposed..." he rolls his eyes "You shouldn't though you have a great body." he says nonchalantly, I blush feeling heat rise in my cheeks "Oh-thanks..." I mumble, Calum quickly changes the subject "So I've been wanting to talk to you about something since you're my best friend and all." he says looking up at me, his almost black hair sticking to his forehead as his plump lips curve into a small grin "There's this girl..." he starts, my heart sinks in my chest as the words fall from his lips effortlessly "Ok." I say a little sadly "I've been meaning to talk to her and telling her how I feel, but I'm just scared you know?" I nod "How come you've never talked to me about her before?" I ask "I dunno I just never have I guess..." he mumbles fiddling with his hands "Tell me about her." I say curious, even though it pains me to think that theres another girl on Calum's mind I'm still his best friend, I have to be here for him. He blushes a little as he smiles and looks up at me "Well she's extremely funny and smart, and I've never met a person more caring than her." he scoots a little closer to me "She's incredibly gorgeous and an amazing listener, she really gets me and understands me a lot." He is now standing in front of me his smile growing by the second, him being a 6 foot tall 18 year old boy he towers over me "Did I mention she was gorgeous?" I nod looking down "Yeah. You did..." "You don't seem all that thrilled that I'm telling you about her." he says, I look up at him "Of course I'm thrilled, I'm super happy for you. I'm just confused one why you've never told me about her?" I say giving my best fake smile, "Should I ask her out?" he asks "Well if you like her and she makes you happy then yeah." he nods, all of the sudden he bursts into laughter, I give him a confused expression "What's so funny?" I chuckle out, he just shakes his head "You just don't get it do you?" he giggles, I shake my head "I guess not." he stands in front of me leaning in a little towards my face "It's you Y/N. It's always been you..." he chews on his bottom lip as my cheeks flush a deep crimson "Oh.." he chuckles pushing a few strands of hair away from my eyes, he licks his lips and brushes his thumb along my cheek cupping the back of my neck "Is this ok?" he asks leaning in a little more, I nod biting my lip. He kisses me softly as my eyes flutter closed, he backs me into the pool edge closing any space left between us, my hands rest on his chest as his other hand finds the small of my back. His lips move against mine as my whole body tingles, his movements are delicate almost as if he thought I was extremely fragile, his skin is warm against mine as my hands slide up to wrap around the back of his neck. He nibbles on my bottom lip lightly making me leave breathy moans against his lips, he smirks into the kiss and pulls away leaving us both panting slightly, I blush "I like you..." I breathe out before opening my eyes, he smiles biting his lip "Good, because then all of that would've been for nothing."
