Chapter 7

The alarm began to sound. 

"Greenie" I breathed out, and lept up. I took Rose's hand, who still looked confused. Adorable.

"Come on" I tugged her hand, limping back towards the box. Rose huffed, which was also adorable, and said, "Fine, but you're explaining to me later." I nodded hurriedly and pulled her along, limping as fast as I could. My ankle felt like it was on shucking fire.

The boys were gathered around the box and we stood next to Newt. His eyebrows raised at our connected hands. Rose blushed and tried to tug her hand away, but I held on tighter.

The box opened with a creaking sound, and inside were crates of supplies and a boy, who looked very out of it. A few boys helped him up and the boy stumbled in front of us.

He pulled out a shucking knife from nowhere and clumsily ran towards Rose, clearly disorientated.

Before anyone else could react, Rose kicked his hand holding the knife, making him lose his grip on it and it flew out of his reach, but he still charged, with his hand outstretched like a shucking zombie, and Rose- again with very fast reflexes- grabbed it and twisted holding it against his back. He yelped in pain and she kneaded him in the gut, making him crumple to the ground.

It was then when we finally came to our sense and Gally and Newt quickly held him down, holding his arms secure.

"Put him in the slammer." Alby said and a few boys dragged him off towards the homestead. The rest of us, stared at Rose, who looked around at all of us.

She took a step back.

"I..." She started, looking scared.

"Woah, That was shucking cool Rose!" Chuck broke the awkward tension. "Can you please teach me??" Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alby smile a little.

"Alright gladers, meeting in 5" He said, picking up the knife that fell on the ground. He handed it to me as the boys dispersed and I took it, and also Rose's hand, you looked very shocked.

"Come on, Let's go" I said as I lead her to the weapons room.

"Where are we going?" She asked. 

"You'll see" I said, as I opened the door.  We stepped into the weapons room and I placed the knife where the other ones were, and turned to her.She looked like she was about to crumble.

I pulled her into a hug and held her as she sobbed into my shirt.

"Shhhh.. It's okay Rose." I held her tight as I comforted her.

"H...He near...ly kill...ed me" She said between gasps. I ran my hand through her hair.

"No, if he had gotten any closer to you, I would had stepped in front of you." I said.

"Bu...t then.. You would have died idiot" She sniffled into my chest. 

"Well, if it meant saving you, I would have gladly done it." As her sobs quieted down, I brushed away her tears with my hands. She blushed hard.

"You still haven't told me what happened back there." She said. I ruffled her hair.

"Later, princess. First, we have a meeting to attend."
