BEEEPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!
My eyes shot open. I looked to my side and an alarm clock was going off. "When did I get that", I thought as my mom bursted through the door of my new bedroom. I sat up in shock.
"My god, what's going on mom? What time is it?"
"It's 7 A.M, How did you sleep?" my mom asks smiling and looking around the big room.
"Why are you waking me up this early?" I ask ignoring her question.
"Because..." she says sitting on the edge of my bed.
"Because?..."
"Well you didn't think you were gonna stay in here forever, did u?, first you and I will go have breakfast outside and then we will go to Johnson" she says excited. This is the best state I have ever seen my mom. I was proud of her but at the same time it kind of made me jealous.
"What's Johnson?" I asked giving her a confused looked.
"It's going to be your new high school, of course only if you like it" she says getting up from my bed.
"Oh..." i say also getting up from my bed. "Well I guess i'll go get ready"
"Hey" My mom says stoping me, "You're happy aren't you?", she asks with pledding eyes
I give her a smile "Ya mom, I am" I say making her face light up.
After having the worst pancakes I have ever had, we finally make it to Johnson high school. I slowly get out of the car that was given to my mom by her boss. The school was big, which I liked because I didn't want to be involved or noticed. Since it was a school day students all over the school. People sitting on the school benches and gossiping with their friends, the popular girls walking around confidently, and smart and sincer students rushing to get in class early. Everyone seemed to be perfectly happy with where ever they were.
We started walking to the entrance and I could peoples' stares on us. I looked to my right and I saw a boy, he had a smile on his lips. He had light brown hair and wore a light blue shirt. I could already tell he was a popular kid. When I looked at him, he shook his head smiling and turned back to his friend resuming to their conversation. "What was that about" I thought but walked on. At the principle's office, we talked about the school's goals for the students, their main subjects, activities, etc. I was so bored that I was about to fall asleep.
"So what do you think Ms. Gilbert?" Principle Henry says breaking from my stupid thoughts.
"Huh?" I ask as I look at my mom who is now giving me a bitter look.
"About the school" he says
" right. um yes it's great" I say. I mentally slap myself.
"Mr. Henry, what my daughter means to say is she loves the school, she is not very good at expressing her feelings" my mom says giving an small laugh.
"Yea" I say giving him a smile.
"So you don't mind starting tomorrow?" he asks.
"Wait what!" I say sitting up a little on my chair.
"That would be perfect" my mom says and i give her a confused look. I though she was going to let me choose.
The car ride back I was silent. To be honest I was kind of mad. I mean I usally listen to whatever my mom says and I could care less about what high school I go to but something about that school didn't feel right, I smelled trouble, specially because that smile kept flashing in my head and it was annoying me. Plus my mom said I could choose, then what happened?
"Come on, get out with it" my mom says keeping her eye on the road.
"What?" I ask, pretending to not know what she is talking about.
"Stop actiing Julia, how many times do I have to tell you I'm your mother, meaning I know every thing about you"
"Okay fine, Why did you tell Mr. Henry I would join the school without asking me when you said it was my choice?" I ask finally giving up on keeping it inside me.
"I know it was wrong but for reason something told me this is best for you, I feel like this will change your life for the better and I just want you trust me on that, Will you?" she asks looking at me then back at the road.
I looked at her confused. I don't why my mom feels that way cause I felt the total opposite.
"Okay" I say.
