And so, Tamako was on a journey to track down that boy which she had first sparred back in her second year, for reasons because of a quest.

Yep.

A quest.

When she first received this random quest on a day where she engorged herself on dango (and also using a save file because, that was a lot dango) she was utterly confused. Who the hell is this boy? Why does it matter to her? And how would befriending the boy help her in the slightest?

From all the years at Suna, she's realized that interacting with anyone that wasn't canon often was bland, boring and a waste of time. Maybe she was a "Kakashi" in a way, but who could blame her? What else was she supposed to do?

The only reason why she was doing this was obviously the exp, sweet sweet exp. The additional reward for completing the special objective was stupid, who needs friendship anyways? She bit her tongue at that thought, scolding herself. Look at her, being all so moody and emo. She should be better than that.

After questioning her peers left and right for a possible lick of this "boy", and often garnering strange looks and remarks, Tamako was able to discover a name to his face, Okura Kinji. He often spends his time at the school library to hide from bullies.

They described him to be a loner, a loser and unskilled. Well, that could describe someone who's lost his nindo, right? And when she heard the gossip behind why he was an outcast, she couldn't help but feel as though she was the perpetrator. Just a little though.

He was targeted ever since her quick dispatch of his ass in that spar so many years ago, and as usual, the strong preyed on the weak and he became the go-to target. Apparently, he hung around the Academy's library, which she had already scoped out. Honestly, the library had to be the least utilized resource in the village.

After class had ended well into the afternoon, she bid a few adieu and entered the library. It wasn't too impressive, just a couple of shelves and tables. Not too big, not too small. She walked in and searched for him, scanning each corner. How hard is it to find a single person in a room?

And now I wish I was a sensor...

Groaning, she took the effort to walk through each shelf and spotted someone dashing away from her. Curious, she followed the person at a walking pace, almost laughing at how easy it was to catch up. After another minute of playing cat and mouse, she eyed the space ahead of the boy and enveloped herself with a sheen of chakra.

Feeling the swoosh of both air and chakra swirl around her, she appeared in front of the boy who bumped into her and squalled to the ground.

Yep. That's Kinji.

He had the same scrawny look to him, an forgettable face.

"Are you avoiding me?" She leaned forward to look down at the boy, crossing her arms behind her back and smiled. Kinji gasped for air, wiping the sweat condensing at his forehead. He desperately needs some stamina training, which also begs the question
