The Diary Of A Wanna Be Ice Hockey Player

7/08/2017 - Training, National Season End.

Training has been going really good, and I'm giving it my all. I think it's showing too - I've recently been put into higher groups with better people, and in the small game we have after practice, I'm playing with the league one players. (I'm in league two.)

Oh yeah, and last weekend was the National League's last games of the season - It was the Swarm Vs. The Admirals, two of the teams that I support (I like Swarm more). Most of my coaches play for the Admirals, but I still like the Swarm because yeah. I just do. They're the best.

SO, the Admirals thrashed us in the first game, 7 - 1.  It was a good game, we played hard, but it just didn't happen. I got to wear number 6's official team jumper - Michael Attwell.

In the second game, just as the time hit 0:00 in third period, we scored and tied the game 4 - 4, which led us into OT. It was electrifying - Cam was jumping around screaming "FUCK YES, FUCK YES, FUCKKK YYESSS!!" It was hilarious.

So, in OT it was a 3 v 3, and the Admirals his the crossbar twice, somehow missing both. About two or three minutes in, we managed to score! It was awesome and everyone was screaming and jumping, it was amazing - Definitely the best game for the Swarm this season.

Oh, and I got an official Swarm bottle, to say thank you for volunteering, as well as two choc bars.

I was talking one of the wingers, and he was saying that the whole team hated the lines, and the coaching sucked. When I talked to the backup goalie, he said that next year, none of the team is going to come back if they keep a certain coach, so Woahh. That happened. 

He said that it was because a certain coach was just taking over, not letting the others do their own drills and apparently he wasn't coaching right, none of the players liked the drills, or the lines. This coach just took over, didn't listen to the players or the other coaches, which kinda sucks for the whole team. That's why they didn't get higher on the scoreboard - the coaching sucked and the lines were not right.

And one thing that sucks for me is that after the victory, ALL the other volunteers (Cam and Alex) and some of the Learn To Play boys and a few other guy friends of mine got to go into the changing room with the Swarm and talk to them and stuff. 

I kinda felt stink because I know that if I was a guy, they would've let me down too, but because I'm a girl, I'm not allowed. Sucky. So no matter how good I get, I know I'm probably never going to be able to do most of the things the boys get to do. And I know that most people would be like "Who the hell would want to go into a cramped room with a whole bunch of smelly, sweating men." but I admire them, and I seriously don't mind because almost every day I am surrounded my a whole bunch of smell, sweating boys.

Ah well.
