Title sounds angsty but it's surprisingly not. You can thank Pulp for that.
This one is a little short, but I have about three or four different things in the works for this right now that should be up within the next few weeks.
Also, I set up a tumblr for this where I'm posting extra stuff like texts so if you wanna follow that it's goodmourninggays

As always, apologies for errors. Here's another fluffy one.

#5 - Ash wakes up a little ill after touring and you help her relax.

<|><|><|>

It’d been a long eight months on tour with Ashley. Returning home with her for the first time in so long was a relief for the both of you.

You almost fall through the front door, your bags being thrown to one side with your girlfriend right behind you repeating your actions.

“Oh...God it’s good to be home,” you hear your girlfriend sigh as she flops on the couch.

It was very early morning- about 4am, and both you and Ashley were shattered.

“Ash, baby. Let’s go to bed,” you told her, rubbing her shoulder and kissing her temple.

“Hmm...” She groans next to you, reaching out for your hand and putting it against her own cheek. “Carry me.”

You laugh at her sleepy behaviour as you take a step closer and twist her body around to pick her up. She’s already falling asleep in your arms as you carry her to the bedroom, placing her in bed and covering her with soft blankets. You kiss her forehead and return to the living room to grab the bags and bring them into the bedroom. You attempt to unpack a little so you don’t have to do as much the following day and you can return to work instead, but your tiredness is getting the better of you.

You lay next to her, watching her soft exhales of breath as she sleeps. You slowly feel yourself getting drowsy and eventually, as you move a little closer to your girlfriend and pull her gently into your chest, you fall into a slumber.

You’re awaken shortly after. You’re alone in bed but the en suite light is on and you can hear light movement.

“Ash?” You call, reluctantly getting out of bed.

“Go back to bed, babe,” she tells you, her voice croaky. You tell yourself it’s because she’s not long woke up but something tells you it’s worse.

You raise an eyebrow as you walk into the en suite. She’s sat on the floor with her knees against her chest, her hair disheveled.

“Baby? Hey, what’s wrong?” You kneel down and reach out to touch her cheek with your fingers.

“I woke up in a hot sweat and now I can’t sleep,” she sniffs, leaning into as you sit next to her and place a comforting arm around her shoulder.

“Are you sick from the tour?” You wonder. You already know the answer.

“I don’t know, maybe. Does my head feel feverish to you?”

You touch her forehead with your palm and you nod at her question, “yeah it does, you need to come and get some rest.”

“It’s too hot to sleep,” she groans.

“Ash you’ve stolen my thickest hoodie,” you smirk as you continue to mess with the sleeve. “There’s a reason you’re being burned alive.”

“But it’s so comfy,” she moves closer to you. “And it smells of you.”

“I’m right here y’know.”

“Stop ruining my cuteness!” She laughs-your favourite sound, but it’s cut off by her getting up. “You’re right. Come cuddle with me until I fall asleep.”

You smile and follow her back into bed. “Always, baby.”

Ashley takes the hoodie off to avoid getting too hot and is left in her shorts and a sports bra, meanwhile you’re dressed in one of your old oversized band shirts. Comfort was definitely essential.

Ashley cuddles into you as you lay down, placing her head into the crook of your neck and her hand resting against the other side of it. You kiss her forehead as you pull her closer, allowing her to tangle her legs around yours.

“You’re like a koala,” you chuckle lightly.

“Are you telling me I have chlamydia?” She mumbles against your skin.

“Yes that’s definitely what I’m saying.”

“I’ll take it as a compliment.”

You feel her shuffle next to you and within a few seconds she’s looking at you directly in the eyes. “Thank you for staying up with me.”

“Don’t thank me, Ash.”

She smiles that sweet smile that you can’t resist. It’s quite possibly your favourite sight. That smile has a lot of meaning to you, it’s main one is that it’s Ash’s silent way of saying ‘I love you’ without even meaning to.

She leans down and connects your lips so softly you’re not sure that they’re even there for a second. You rest your hands on her waist as she deepens the kiss, your lips moving together in a talented, well-practiced synchronisation. You break it and rest your forehead on hers. “I love you, Ash.”

She smiles again, this time releasing a small laugh and she kisses you once more and replies. “I love you too, baby. So much.”
