Clary-
Moving to a new school is always a rush of feelings. Such as, being scared, anxious, nervous, sick, excited, and embarrassed. Embarrassed, when you are the new kid in school and know no one, and are trying to pick a seat at lunch that is equally far away from everyone but not too close to the trash can. I didn't want to be known as "that new girl". I knew the drill, I'm always moving around with my mom. But the worst part about this move is that it was the middle of the school year and everyone already had their "clicks"Locker 105, A Hall. Great, easy enough. Wrong. This school was like the schools you would see in movies. Basically the monster of all other schools. Maybe it was because of the location? New York City. THE New York City! I've always wanted to go to the big apple but now I live here!
I was so lost in thought I ran right into a nerdy yet attractive guy dropping all of my books.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you!" I said, blushing probably as red as my hair.
"It's okay I wasn't paying any attention either!" The guy said laughing. He then stopped looking confused. "Have we met before?" He asked.
"No, in new here. I'm Clary Fray." He smiled and stuck out his hand which I shook.
"I'm Lewis, Simon Lewis, big fan of video games, Star Wars, and I'm in a band." He smiled and winked at me. I couldn't help but laugh. Funny and cute.
I was watching him with curious eyes as he swallowed hard and started to blush. Was it because of me? It couldn't be, he was looking over me at someone else. I turned and gulped. Wow.
"Who are they?" I asked Simon.
"Isabella Lightwood or Izzy, her brother, and their best fr-" He was struggling but finally spit the word out, "friend."
I sighed a little annoyed, "Well, do they have names?" Simon tried to laugh. "Yeah, Alec Lightwood and Raphael Santiago."
I turned to look at the siblings and their friend. Izzy was putting books in her locker while Alec was leaning against another locker staring everyone down with a death glare. Very protective, I thought. Raphaels head was buried in a book the whole time oblivious to everything.
Izzy shut her locker and started to walk over to where we were standing. Alec glanced over to me and our eyes locked. I could stare into them all day or at him. He was pretty for a guy. Tall, muscular, with stunning black hair and blue eyes. Raphael was very stout and had an angular face with dark features. Izzy had the same black hair as her brother but very dark eyes.
Izzy looked up and saw me staring and smirked. Just like her brother she was pretty but in her own case she was beautiful. Movie star beautiful. When I realized I was blushing I turned to walk away but I tripped over a book I had forgotten to pick up. Great I thought, and right as Alec and Izzy passed. I was about to tear up but quickly realized Izzy had been smiling. This somehow made the situation less embarrassing.
Simon helped me up and I noticed his hands were really sweaty. I knew why too.
"She's pretty, y'all would be cute." He shook his head.
"No it's not her it's..." he stopped abruptly and looked flushed. I turned to see if he was looking at Izzy but she had already passed with Alec. The only person at the end of the hall was Raphael Santiago. I turned to Simon and raised my eyebrows.
"Interesting" I smiled.
"How about I show you around and give you the low down on everything?" I could tell he was eager to leave by the way he said it.
"He is coming!" Simon whispered frantically.
"Fine!" I said.
We walked around for what seemed like forever when we finally stopped. I looked up at Simon confused, this was the art room not the history room.
"Why are we here?" I asked. Simon smiled, "Well, when you dropped your books I saw some of your drawings and they are really good!"
Surprised I said, "Oh, thanks! Yeah that's what I want to be in the future, an artist."
He led me down another long hall and explained that it was the history class where I was supposed to be and to meet him at an ice cream shop after school to talk about everything.
I looked through the window. Great I thought. History my worst and least favorite subject.
