chapter ten

Every kid's favorite hero was turning against each other at a deserted airport in Germany. What were the odds that would happen? More likely than Ana would ever think, because she was with them to witness it and she was fighting them.

It took her way too long to get out of that webbing Spider-Man had trapped her hands in. Using her abilities, she had pressed her palms against the luggage car and felt the ripple of power surge against the vehicle and push it back, allowing her to rip her hands free while doing so. She was just getting rid of the strange sticky material when she ran back to where the fights were taking place. Everyone seemed to be all over the place, with Sam being chased by Tony in the air with Rhodey following them, Wanda spotting Clint as some guy in a black cat suit tried swinging his claws at him, and Steve and Bucky no where to be seen. She wouldn't have been able to see Scott, even if she tried, and along with that, Spider-Man had a gangway on top of him, his arms straining to keep it from crushing him.

He looked like he was struggling, and although she was supposed to be fighting him, Ana couldn't help but feel a little bad for him.

She let out a heavy sigh, and put her hands up to lift the gangway, allowing him to get out from under it. He looked around in confusion at the sudden weight lifted off of him, until his eyes landed on her. It was then that Peter realized that the Ana he got to know when he wasn't Spider-Man and she wasn't whoever the person she became when she put on that suit, was still the same caring, radiant, and determined girl. Nothing that was going on had a direct affect on their relationship. She hadn't really changed a bit.

It suddenly didn't matter much to him that she was fighting against him and breaking just about one of the biggest laws by protecting a fugitive, because he now knew that it was because she was loyal to those she cared about, and she was just doing what she thought was right, even though she may have been wrong.

Ana didn't think much of her saving Spider-Man despite him being on the opposite side she was on. She was starting to realize that she wasn't fighting for anyone. Most of the people around her were people that she cared about, and she didn't want to fight any of them. They were all there battling for something they believed in, and Ana was in no place to stand in the way of that. As much as she had fought to be taken in consideration as an adult, Ana knew that this situation, was best left to the adults. This was way beyond high-school, way beyond boy crushes on Peter, way beyond a fifteen year-old girl.

She didn't fit in here, at least not in the way she wanted to. Ana would've dreamed for days about the moment she teamed up with the Avengers again, but that was a dream that would have to live on, because it wasn't coming to reality any time soon.

Suddenly, through her earpiece, Ana heard Steve's voice say through the speaker, "We gotta draw out the flyers. I'll take Vision, you get to the jet."
