nakatingin lang ako sa labas ng office ni kyle, habang may ineenterview sya na isa sa mga bago nyang pasyenteng si Joey.

kanina pa sya may inaasikasong pasyente eh. mula kaninang umaga pa. buti Hindi sya napapagot noh? o bagod narin sya?

napatingin ako sa cellphone ko ng mag ring yun. kaya tinignan ko kung sino nanaman yun. at pag katingin ko, si Claude nanaman ang nag text.

kanina pa yan eh, kanina pa sya nagtatanong kung asan na daw kami, at kanina pa raw kami late.

this is concert night.

tumingin ako sa relo ko. 9:00 pm napala, late na nga kami. kanina pa kasi sinasabi ni Kyle na itatawag nya nalang ako ng taxi eh, kasi baka gabihin daw sya. pero Hindi ako pumayag.

Hindi ko nalang reneplyan si Claude at baka mag maktol pa yun pag nalaman na Hindi pa kami nakakaalis sa hospital.

" I have the blood result, joey, and I'm afraid there is a significant rise in the prostate-specific antigen level"

" both my father and my uncle had prostate disease  because of that I have always been aware what can happen."- joey

" have you been noticing other signs?"- kyle

" I have some discomfort, plus there are more nights when I need to use the bathroom, and I'm experiencing an creasing urgency to go...with some hesitation when I do."- joey

" you can have difficulty passing urine because prostate swells and puts pressure on the urethra."

kyle explained again, making notes as Joey outlined his symptoms

what's prostate disease?

prostate cancer was one of the commonest forms of cancer in men.

" your symptoms don't necessary mean it cancer, but it is always best to be cautions, especially with your family history."- kyle

" so what will happen now?"

" I'll be referring you to the urologist."

" surgery?"- joey

" not necessarily,"

I guest kyle knew he was anxious.

" the urologist will be able to give you much clearer guidance when he's done his own assessment. he'll do more test, an ultrasound, and a biopsy if required, then he can discuss with you what is best course of action."

joey silent for a moment

" I know there can be problems after surgery."

" there can be, in some cases, but it depents on so many factors. let's take this a step at a time, and between us we'll deal with any issues if and when they happen."- kyle

" you're right. I'm getting ahead of myself "

joey admitted with a rueful smile

" thanks doc."

" no problem. I'll make that referral immediately but contact me at any time if there is anything you want to ask or you notice any change in your symptoms."- kyle
