"Hey Devin. Guess who's leaving for Greenhaven?" I looked up at Karmo and then looked away.
"Oh come on! Don't tell me you're still sad about the Keeper beating you?" Karmo scoffed. I shrugged and looked out to the sea.
I messed with the gold locket around my neck and sighed. Somewhere across the ocean, she was there in the enemy base; probably celebrating with her new Greencloak friends. And here I was, on the opposite side of the world and on the opposite side of the war as well.
Karmo seemed to understand that I was being serious and sat next to me and patted my shoulder twice. He's been my best friend when we've been with the Conquerors. We both had been questioning Zerif for a little bit now, and now that I had been defeated by the Keeper: I was really doubting the Conquerors way of things.
I released Elda in hopes of maybe being comforted. The black panther rested her head on my lap and I scratched her behind the ears. She purred, which usually put me at ease, but it didn't help, at least not today. Karmo sighed and spoke up.
"Anyways, what I was saying was guess who's going to Greenhaven?"
"Who Karmo? Not like I'll care anyways." I scoffed sadly and continued stroking Elda.
"Drina herself is going to Greenhaven!" Karmo said excitedly. That surprised me. Drina, going to Greenhaven? Weird.
"Why?" I asked curiously. Karmo smiled happily as if he finally found something that caught my attention. Even Elda had perked her head up in interest.
"I don't know. She kept saying something about taking out Greenhaven at the source. If I didn't know any better, I'd say she was crazy." Karmo shrugged. My brain went thinking. At the source? What did Drina mean by that?
"Devin what did you just get? You look like you just got shocked by an electrical eel." Karmo said.
"If want to take out the source of a war, you take out the greatest threat in the area. Shane and Zerif are already taking care the Four Fallen heroes. That means if Drina wants to take out the source of Greenhaven, she needs to take care of..." it dawned on me and my eyes widened in horror. "Diana. Drina's going to take out the Keeper."

"This is a terrible idea! We're sneaking around in Greenhaven: an enemy base and we're following Drina: the second most likely person to kill us in a heartbeat. What is your plan exactly?" Karmo asked. We had snuck into Greenhaven on Drina's boat, hiding belowdecks so that Drina or her spider Iskos wouldn't spot us.
We were currently hiding on top one of the towers in Greenhaven, overlooking what we thought was the center of Greenhaven. I scoured the place using Elda's night vision. Greenhaven was huge, and took up the whole island it was on.
"Hey Devin. I'm going to ask you again? What's the plan?" Karmo asked, nudging me. I looked at him and shrugged. I didn't have a plan; I just wanted to make sure Diana was ok.
"Great we're screwed. We're completely screwed. Drina's going to find us and throw us in the dungeon at Stetriol. There we'll either get swallowed by Gerathon or get executed by Shane." Karmo rambled. I was so annoyed with him that I punched him, hard.
"OW! What was that for!?" Karmo asked. I snarled and rolled my eyes. I focused my attention back to the center and pushed Karmo down.
"What is wrong with you Dev-?" I covered his mouth with my hand. With my free hand, I put a finger to my lips and then pointed down to the center of Greenhaven. Karmo finally understood why I wanted him to shut up.
Drina was right below us, heading into the tower we were standing on. That must've been the Keeper's place. I beckoned Karmo to follow me and we slid down the tower wall to the balcony to Diana's room.
A faint light and a soft voice was coming from her room. I peeked behind the window just as Drina came in the room and the light disappeared. She took out her sword and aimed it at Diana. Drina struck.
Steel collided with leather gloves. The Keeper must have known Drina was coming and caught the sword just before it killed her. Either that or Diana slept with her armor on.
"Good you're awake. I was afraid that it would be too easy to kill you." Drina snarled. "Zerif says that I failed. I'll show him that I didn't fail. And that starts by killing you."
The Keeper released her spirit animal and Jinx pounced on Drina, knocking her off the Keeper. The Keeper jumped out of bed, fully armored, and drew her sword. Drina threw two knives at Diana, who flipped over each one. Drina escaped out the door and the Keeper followed close behind her. I went to follow her, but Karmo held me back.
"Karmo, let me go!" I said and tried to struggle out of his grip. Karmo didn't let go and spoke.
"No dude! You follow her, you'll distract her and will end up either getting yourself or her killed." I sighed and stopped fighting. Karmo let go and we went to the balcony and watched the fight unfold below us.
In the beginning, Drina would always get the upper hand on Diana. However, as the fight progressed, The Keeper and Jinx got Drina's pattern of fighting and eventually defeated her. Drina used her power and disappeared as the fight ended. Olvan and Lenori came up to Diana and talked with her. Diana nodded once to them and then collapsed.
I again moved to go help her, but Karmo shook his head and I stayed where I was. Karmo spoke up, putting his hand on my shoulder.
"Come on, Devin. We got to go or we're going to miss the boat back to Stetriol." Karmo climbed up the tower, but I hesitated and looked back to where the Keeper was. A Greencloak who I knew by the name of Keith picked Diana up and she curled up against him.
This weird feeling came over me and I tore my eyes away from the two of them. I spoke in a quiet voice so that way Karmo wouldn't hear.
"I'm sorry that I wasn't good enough for you Diana. I'm so sorry. I hope that someday I become worthy enough for you." I climbed up the tower and followed close behind Karmo.

It was my induction ceremony into the Redcloaks. The Second Devourer War had just ended and I might've burned down Trunswick.
"Devin." I was snapped out of my thoughts by King calling me. "What is your new name?" I looked at the white mask in my hand. It was a mask of a panther, looking just like Elda. My mind flashed back to the promise I made to Diana after she defeated Drina. I put on the mask and spoke my new name.
"Worthy. My name is Worthy."
