Part 13 - In the Hospital

In the Hospital, 9:45pm, same day 

Miss hobnob was brought into Hospital about 10 minutes ago and was taken to a bed in seconds so that doctors and nurses could help her and to try to prevent her from having another stroke.

Meanwhile the chipettes sat outside the room miss hobnob was in on the chairs in the corridor 

"Oh I hope she is going to be ok" said Jeanette in a worried voice

"Me too, I'm really worried about her" said Eleanor

"What happened to her, I was just coming downstairs and heard a Big Bang" asked Brittany

"Well, after you left miss hobnob started looking down at the ground.." Started Jeanette

"....So we asked her if she was ok and she said yes but started making strange noises"  finished Eleanor

"Then she fell?" Asked Brittany

"Yea pretty much, she stood up after making strange noises and then just collapsed and fell to the ground and that's when you come in" explained Jeanette

"Oh right...I hope she pulls through" said Brittany in a sad but caring voice

"There is a good chance she will be fine, it's just she will be needing a lot of attention from doctors and will probably need someone to come and check on her daily that is an adult when she gets home" explained Jeanette

"Won't she take longer to recover as she is an 'old' person" asked Eleanor whispering the word 'old' 

"Well yea, she will take a bit longer to recover since she is 'old' but I'm shore she will be fine and be out of hospital in a week or two" said Jeanette also whispering the word old

Brittany had a worried look on her face. "Who will look after us while she is in hospital?" Asked Brittany 

Jeanette had a worried look on her face too "oh my gosh, I don't know we can't look after ourselves for two weeks we are too young" said Jeanette in a worried voice

"I know lets ask Dave if he will take care of us" suggested Eleanor

"That's a good idea Eleanor but I don't know if Dave will look after us as well as the chipmunks, he will have to feed six chipmunks instead of three" said Jeanette

"Yea but Dave is great to us and miss hobnob and we are all great friends with Dave and the chipmunks so I couldn't see it been a problem" said Brittany

"Oh ok then....go and phone Dave up now and ask if we can all stop with him, while miss hobnob is in hospital" said Jeanette in a sad voice

"What's wrong Jeanette?" Asked Brittany

"Am just worried that Dave will say no and we won't have anyone to go too, and he might think we are taking advantage of him been there" said Jeanette starting to cry

"Oh Jeanette don't get upset, Dave won't think we are taking advantage of him and I'm shore he will let us stay with him" said Brittany while hugging Jeanette   

Brittany finished the hug and jumped off the chair onto the floor. 

"Be back in a minute guys, am just going to phone Daves house now" said Brittany to her sisters before walking away

Brittany made it to a telophone in the hospital and phoned Daves number on it

At Daves house

The phone started ringing and Dave answered it 

"Hello?" Answered Dave

"Hi Dave, it's me Brittany" replied Brittany 

"Brittany? What are you doing calling this late on a school night?" Asked Dave

"I know, sorry Dave it is a bit late to be phoning people" joked Brittany "but I phoned to ask you if me and my sisters, Jeanette and Eleanor, could come and stop with you while miss hobnob recovers in hospital" explained Brittany 

"What? Miss hobnob is in hospital? Your in hospital right now?" Asked Dave

"Yea miss hobnob is in the hospital, she is believed to have had a stroke and me and my sisters went to the hospital with her in the ambulance" explained Brittany

Dave was shocked at what he was hearing he went silent for a moment

"Dave?" Asked Brittany making shore Dave was still on the phone

"Oh sorry...I'm still here, just shocked at what your telling me. You and your sisters can come and stop with me while miss hobnob is recovering in hospital, it's fine with me" said Dave

"For real Dave? Thanks so much" said Brittany in a happier voice 

"No problem, will come and pick you three girls up now, see you in about 20 minutes" said Dave before putting the phone down

Dave went upstairs to the chipmunks room. He switched on the bedroom light.

"Guys, wake up I need to tell you something" called Dave

"Oh can't it wait till morning" said Alvin in a grumpy voice

"Not really it's important Alvin, I'm going to the hospital now to pick up the chipettes and they will be stopping with us for a while" explained Dave

"Wow the chipettes are going to be stopping with us" asked Alvin

"Why what's wrong with miss hobnob? Is she ill?" Asked Simon

"Will explain to you guys tomorrow morning, just telling you where I am going incase you wake up and find me missing that's all" said Dave in a serious tone

Dave then left the bedroom, gone outside, locked the door and got in the car to the hospital 

At the Hospital 

"Wow, I'm going to be with Alvin all day and night for the next week or so, am so excited can't wait to be with him all the time, I miss him so much when we say bye to each other at school" Brittany said to herself in a happy voice 

Brittany ran back to her sisters and told them "Dave said he will look after us while miss hobnob is in hospital and he is coming to pick us up now" 

Jeanette and Eleanor smiled. They were happy someone was able to take them in and look after them while there carer was in hospital 

The chipettes all walked over to the elevator and waited for Dave at reception 

30 minutes later 

Dave arrived at the hospital and found the chipettes at reception waiting for him.

"There you three are" said Dave

"Hi Dave" said Eleanor

"Hi girls sorry got stuck in a bit of traffic" said Dave

"No problem Dave" said Brittany 

"Thanks for letting us stay with you and the chipmunks Dave" said Jeanette

"No problem girls, you three are like family to me and miss hobnob is a great carer for you three" said Dave in a happy voice 

"Aw thanks Dave" said Brittany with a giggle 

"Come on to the car and tomorrow afternoon we will go to your house and pick some clothes up for the week or two while your at mine" said Dave

With that Dave and the chipettes got in the car and Dave drove them to his home
