I had a glass of water in my hand and walked over to the table to hand it to the customer. A man walked in the door and my eyes widened, it was Michael. I lost my balance spilled the water all over the floor and onto my apron. I quickly gasped and used my apron to soak up the water. "I am so sorry." I said moving frantically.

"Lauren! Lauren!" I heard people calling my name. I honestly didn't care who it was, I just humiliated myself in front of everyone, and dropped the poor persons water.

"Lauren! Are you alright? Let me help you." Michael said.

He helped me clean up all of the glass shards. I didn't want help, what mattered to me most was that the customer got their drink. I quickly ran to get another one and gave it to them.

"What happened?" He asked with a worried look on his face. How could I tell him that it was because of him? How could I tell him that I got distracted.

"I- I don't know what's gotten into me, I saw you straight away and dropped the glass. I got shocked."

"It's my fault. I should've come later.
I just wanted to see you again."

"It's not your fault Michael so don't you dare feel that way! It's my fault for not focusing on my job." I felt like dying at that very moment and shriveling into nothing.

"LAUREN WILLIAMS." Oh my gosh, it's my boss, yelling at the top of his lungs. Of course. "Michael I have to go. It's my boss, great."

"I'm sure you'll be fine. I'll just go and I'll call you later. Bye Lauren."

I walked over to the back where my boss was, scared of what he was going to say. "Lauren, every day you come to work you look miserable. Do you hate your job?"

"no I-
"Then why are you never focused"? He interrupted me. "And that guy, he walks in almost every day. Do you guys have a thing going on?"

"He's walked in two times." I said calmly arguing back to him.

Don't bring Michael into this! Ugh, why does he have to?

"He's just a friend of mine. He comes to visit. I know I looked at him, I just got distracted." My boss looked at me like he wanted to strangle me and pointed his finger at me.

"Well if that man is a distraction to your job, then he can't come to this cafe ever again."

"He's our star customer though! He loves our food!"

"Clearly you can't focus."

"Then I guess you'll have to fire me." I said trying not to cry.

"Very well then, you're FIRED! You never helped us anyways."

(Michael)
I heard Lauren's boss yelling at her from inside, but I couldn't make out what he was saying. The screaming stopped and I heard footsteps run behind me.

It was Lauren, running to her car, avoiding looking at me. "Lauren wait!" I said running after her.

"He fired me." She choked, starting to cry. I felt so bad. After all, it was my fault for coming in to visit her. But I had feelings for her and I was just trying to express them.

"It's my fault I-."

"No it isn't Michael! It's my fault for being in love with you!" She said, gasping and putting her hand over her mouth. I can't believe she just said that.

"You're what?"

"Nothing."

"Lauren wait!"
