"Are you OK, what happened?" Alex asked, his voice filling with worry.
"I felt claustrophobic at the party, so I left and came down here to sing. I was so tired and the sand looked so tempting, so I lay down and fell asleep, I didn't mean to be away for so long, I... I... I..." Her voice sounded so vulnerable and quiet, she was almost whispering.
"Shh, it's OK Elodie, just don't do it again, now go home and get some rest" Alex's voice was full of calm and was so reassuring that even he felt more confident after hearing it.

Later that day, Alex was walking through the park when he heard a voice. A voice as smooth as melted chocolate, as beautiful as the girl it came from. He followed the voice and found Elodie, singing her heart out, the sound of her soul was heard in every note, forgotten memories exposed in every word. The song was just like her, apart from one thing. The song depicted lost love, an empty soul, a heart devoted to someone who would never love her. That was completely unlike her, who couldn't love Elodie.

She is the sweetest girl I know, I've grown to love her, but she would never love me. Elodie's soul is the least empty soul in the world, she is always full of cute giggles, joyful laughter and blissful, twinkling indigo eyes. I love her. I never realized it before, but I do. She'll never love me. The song she sings is a lot like me; empty soul, devoted to one who will never love me, lost love. Hmm. I Wonder who she loves?
