“Why do you look like you are about to go into battle?” Jacob asks with a smile playing on his lips.
“She is going hunting with me,” Emily says, smirking as she walks into the kitchen.
Jacob grabs me by my waist and spins me around exceptionally fast.
“You better be careful.” Jacob stares into my eyes as he says this.
“Don’t worry about Emily. I won’t take my eyes off of her.”
“Not Emily, you.”
There was a gap between us, with so many words left unspoken. I could hear the steady beating of Jacobs heartbeat. I lay my hands across his chest, keeping the little distance that was between us solid.
“I will,” Alexa said
“Come on, let’s go! I haven’t been hunting in weeks!” Emily whines.
“Bye” I feel as if I should say more, but I do not.
“Bye Alexa,” he whispers.
His expression is hard to read but I see sadness in his eyes. He looked like there was more he wanted to say. But I turned around and walked away before Emily walks out on her own.
