Before we begin, let me explain how I got here. There was a contest at my school to go an excursion up to the Upper Peninsula with two other people from the school and 9 others from around the area. I entered, and won. The other two kids from my school are Kate and Molly, both my friends. All of us we're surprised that we won, and over joyed. I had counted down the days until the trip and here we were standing at the check in. I was so nervous, to my left were two girls sitting on their bags drinking juice box's, they obviously knew each other, and they were beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. I had tried to look my best because I wanted to make a good first impression, everybody does that, right? Soon Kate and Molly showed up and we stood there and talked for a little. I notice two brothers from our school, Anthony and Joe, they must have entered the public contest. We didn't talk much, but we'd definitely end up having to talk to each other during the trip. Then I saw a guy with curly brown hair, I wasn't sure if it was Chris or Kelvin, but it turned out to be Kelvin. He took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to his mom, that's why you don't ask if you can have it. It's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission. Most of the time. After my mom was done asking one of my "counselors", Emma, a million questions we head into our first, and only cabin to drop off my stuff. For the rest of the trip we'd be tent camping, not a big deal for me though. My mom, dad, and brother hug me and embarrass me enough until they finally leave. I was a little sad, but it was fine. After a little bit of time I introduce myself to the two girls whom I saw earlier. Their names were Naomi and Madison, they were cousins, which explains a lot. We settle in, play some name games and get to know each other. Overall, there was 12 kids and 2 "counselors" (nobody knew what to really call them) the counselors names were Emma and Olivia. And here's the rest:

We went out and had a swim test, everyone commented on how cute my swim suit was so I was happy. By now the girls have gotten to know each other, and the guys seem to have gotten to know each other as well. I kinda struggled with the swim test but I was probably just really nervous. Kate, Molly, and I all went together so I guess that made it better. We swam for a little while more after that but I stayed by the shore with Naomi and Madison. Eventually we formed a circle and talked about tv shows, I said that I watched Greys Anatomy even though I've only seen two episodes... oh well. Everyone seemed to like me and I was just being a little shy. Maybe a lot shy, I couldn't really tell. But naomi said
"I know! I love her she's so pretty and she just stares off into space sometimes but it's great I literally love her"
Somebody must've said something before but I didn't hear it. I smiled.
After we dried off and changed, we went out and practiced pitching tents, ours didn't go so well. We kept getting the broken ones or the freakishly complicated ones. Even Emma and Olivia couldn't do it. We played volleyball for a little while too and then got our tents groups. Naomi, Madison, Kate, and I all wanted to be together and same with the other four girls but they split it up by age so the groups ended up being;

Then obviously all four guys were together.
I was sad and salty, we all were.
We went back inside and dried off and got ready for bed, where we would obviously just stay up and talk. I was feeling a bit homesick but I was keeping it together. Our shower was broken so I didn't take one, but Emily took one in the boys bathroom. I finally got to know what happened to Kate's parents, it was pretty sad. Really sad actually. But not as sad at Anna's "life story" which I got to hear later along the trip. We all went to bed only to have a bunch of us pile on the floor in our sleeping bags. I went down there to hang out but I wanted to take advantage of the mattress while I had it. While I was down there I showed them a picture and now we kinda have an inside joke about it. It's confidential. I end up going back to my bunk to well, cry. I kinda knew it was coming but it only lasted for about ten minutes and then I fell asleep. Now there was only 5 more days left :(
